are you getting sick off clicking scan every 0.1 sec to get that shiptype of a enemy that is about to land on you
or are your mouse buttons all occupied doing other important internetspace ship things so you cant scan down that red that just came in system

why not have a AUTO SCAN switch
whenever enebled your d-scan will auto scan preselected angle and ranges every 5 sec
manual scanning is not possible unless auto scan is turned off
this way it wont be a too powerfull tool while still holding its funcionality
and people can stop spamming scan
small tweak big diffrence

Fly safe keep killing And remember I'm watching you !!!!

If you can't find the time to click the d-scan button then don't complain when you die it literally takes clicking a button once every few seconds, plenty of people manage it already and its been working as intended for the better part of a decade.

+1 been asking for this.

Asked for it in my own thread... see signature.

Christopher you're so wrong it hurts. It's been working as intended sure, and the way it's intended to work is a bad interface.

I don't deny that its a bad interface, yes it could be streamlined or made more precise, but adding an auto pulse on it is a bad idea. there is already too much virtually free intel in this game, more is not what we need right now.

1. There should just be an auto dock feature that scans your local window and auto docks you if a neutral shows up in local.

2. An even better upgrade would be to have a null citizen entitlement program. Once per day you can just R-click while in station and pick the get isk option. Then type in the amount you want (maybe a second pull down menu w/ standard amounts so that you don't have to actually type in a number). This would be better because you could accumulate isk with out the un necessary risk of undocking.

It would be balanced because you would have to log in to a SOV null station to get your risk and effort free isk. The free isk would stimulate the eve economy. With the explosion of wealth - contract purchases in Jita would go up.... JF traffic would go up.... everyone would share a piece of the wealth. Increasing the eve economy would also promote more suscriptions. It would be easier for the average character to purchase a PLEX.

I completely agree... that there's too much free intel.

Remove non-consensual watchlisting, and remove local... and then D-scan can be automatic.

Today, you can without breaking the EULA be informed by your computer when an enemy comes into your overview, or a new player enters local, or a new sig appear, just by using tool like autohotkey that can do a pixel color search on your screen without interacting with the client (this is why some were asking for opaque background, to facilitate the color changes automations).

With such automation the D-Scan process would also allow you to know when something (probes, ships,...) is on D-Scan, as you can't currently have a macro/software that presses the D-Scan button without risking being banned today.

CCP has made some good progress in customizing the sound for gate activation or WH jumping to allow some kind of passive detection within the game for everyone, but it is still pretty limited.

I'd like to see these alerts integrated in game for everyone to use, rather than having them benefit a small portion of the player base that can build these pixelsearch based tools. Then, automatic D-Scan would make sense too.

Right now, it would only favor a small set of players that can treat the screen information from these automated d-scan.

OP could take time between spam clicks of d-scan to type post this, but couldn't take the time to use the search feature to find one of the multitude of identical threads containing all the reasons why his is a bad idea.

Reported for redundancy.
