Ingame avatar "wanted" changes

Lets start off with stating that I really wished the whole bounty system would be meaningful and open up new game play options, but it doesn't. Regardless of that fact the ingame wanted sign on avatars is silly, I get the whole "mug shot" idea but it's counter productive and just annoying.

CCP wants us to pay for ingame clothing and cosmetics but then punishes us for doing exactly that, this wouldn't be much of an issue if there would be actual, meaningful, avatar gameplay but there isn't so the 2D avatar picture really is all we have and fcking it all up with hilariously massive wanted signs doesn't actually entice us to spend money. If they wanted bounties to be meaningful and have consequences they should do that through game play, not by being annoying.

So I propose a change to the ingame wanted sign to have it take up less avatar space and, generally, be less intrusive and counter productive in regards to us spending cash on looks. Thing is that we already HAVE many precedents in that regard, a simple coloured top right corner (T2/faction icons etc).

New wanted avatar

Just add some wanted logo or perhaps an isk one and presto, done. Less intrusive, less avatar "real estate" wasted, fully compliant with how EVE does things like that.

Without going into the can of worms that is avatar based gameplay.

Yes, i think that this suggestion makes sense. A red triangle in the corner, inspired by the meta tag on item icons seems enough to indicate a char has a bounty on it.

I can get behind this, it is a bit nonsensical that other players can influence your avatar picture.

Althought I feel there will be someone somewhere who will want the big red WANTED text to stay because of RP reasons, so it would be better to ask for a toggle: "do you want the text or the corner tag when you have a bounty on your head?"

Anything that covers most of your avatar photos is welcome.

How about the option for either, or even more choices? I can understand your view point, but I personally like the wanted sign and wish it to remain.

Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the Lions will ignore you in the Savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless.

+1 for options, especially ones that make sense.

Given you aren't actually 'wanted' in the traditional outlaw sense, as it's a private bounty, not a legal government putting a price on your head, totally agree in downscaling it.

So I get wanting to remove/modify the wanted sign from the character photos and I am in support of this. But what about the mechanics of the bounty system itself. I think it could use minor reworking. There used to be quite a bit of chatter about this, though I haven't seen much if any lately.

After having bounty placed upon myself about a year ago I finally looked at the mechanics and found that the bounties are rather ineffectual. So yeah making the marker for such a system less prominent seems like a sound course of action. Perhaps the amount of your bounty dictates the degree of prominence the bounty placard/marking has on your character. Also a mechanic for removing the bounty yourself wouldn't hurt. Make it consumable item that you buy with concord LP. Make several degrees of the item each removing an amount of bounty based on LP spent on the item. 5LP to 1k ISK ratio perhaps with the lowest consumable being 500LP for a reduction 500,000 ISK towards your standing bounty.

Again just an idea to breathe a little life into the system.

Who's your end of the world buddy?
