Why does the Kronos say "Duviolle Laboratories" on it in plain English text...

Isn't this game supposed to be set in a distant galaxy at the end of a collapsed wormhole thousands of years in the future?

Or is there some chronicle explaining why not just the Gallente, but all the empires use the same plain English text to label their corp logos?

Wouldn't it make more sense if each empire had it's own script to label it's ships with? It would certainly add immersion and depth to the game.

The learning curve is steep enough without having to learn a set of foreign intergalactic languages.

Why would a language supported by most countries in the world be used in a space faring game why oh why!!!!!

What we read in EVE is in English so we can read it, but lore wise each empire has it's own languages and such... so just think of it as translated.

For example in the fiction, EVE is etched on the Eve gate in plain English but no one has a clue what EVE actually means, because no one knows English in EVE.

So yeah... think of it as subtitled or something.

We could try suing OP but I get the feeling that lawyers will alone take up even more seconds than OP ever did

Yes, it's not like a few thousand years would change said language, right? Roll

Anyone ever notice that in the Star wars movies, all text is in some (non-English) symbolic form? The OP does have a point, but you have to draw the line somewhere before the game becomes so unintelligible that it becomes unplayable.

Why can we see light from the universe outside the ship when we are going faster than the speed of light?

Why can we see a nebulae when we are inside one? If the gas were dense enough to see from within the nebulae there should be a star forming around you.

Why is anyone using missiles when there are energy weapons?

The answer to all of these and more:

Internet Spaceshipz YARRR.

If it were real I would be in space.

OP your also forgetting that in the russian, german, japanese and chinese clients the text in eve is in that respective language.

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

I would prefer to see chinese hieroglyphs on ships and logos.
This will be main international language anyway in not-so-distant future (50 years or so, see Blade Runner for example). Bear

Implants. See, your implants have a built in translator, and just change the symbols for you.

Ah but what about when you don't have any implants, well the it is your camera drones doing it for you.

See, simple.
