Blood Hideaway

Greetings Missions and Complexes Forum,

Right after I completed my SoE Epic Arc and decided to go solo in my own corporation, I found a direct to highsec wormhole leading to Aridia. Seeing how remote it was and how pretty the nebulae looked I took the opportunity and moved all of my assets there.

Anyway being just over a month into Eve I've noticed that the 50+ Blood Hideaways I've run have yet to escalate to a 1/10.

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Blood_Hideaway

It states that it's expected to escalate. Also I find these hideaways reliably in all the 0.4 Aridia(n) systems as well.

My question is does anyone know if the Blood Hideaway actually escalates or is the wiki wrong?

I'm new to the game and I see that anyone can edit evelopedia; think I should? (I'd make graphs to detail my obervations like what % of hideaways yield Dark Blood rats and escalate)

I'm still waiting to confirm that escalation. No luck yet. Sansha and Serpentis hideaways escalates to DED3.
Also i wouldn't rely on evelopedia. Data might by outdated.
I verified and updated sites from hideaway to den for sanshas and started to run serpentis hisec anoms.

Interesting, and that's too bad Evelopedia is considered out of date.. it's the first place I go to for most of everything.

I'm kind of interested in helping maintain it and keeping it relevant though.

Haven't run any Sansha sites yet myself but it was a Serpentis Refuge I think .. my first one led to a Serpentis 3/10 and a friend help me run it and dropped over 100m in loot! Hooked ever since. Big smile

What's a good measure you think .. to decide whether something escalates or not? I'm gonna try running 50 more and tallying what I get for some more concrete #'s. The Blood 3/10's are a bit too hard for me to do alone so I hope these Blood Hideaways actually escalate.. because probing is such a grind sometimes.

I didn't find any symptoms. Message just pop up. 50 runs is a bit many, but it's random. It may not escalate at all.
From what i explore:
sansha
hideaway -> DED 3
refuge -> DED 3
den -> DED 5
BR
refuge -> DED 4
den -> DED 5
serpentis
hideaway ->DED 3

Let me know what you find, I will update evelopedia.

Cool. I got a pretty serious looking legal pad next to me with some tally marks. Ran 5 of them today. I'll get back to you here with the information Big smile I'm also noting what's dropping if the Dark Blood rat appears.

Escalations are random. Even if it should escalate 5% of the time, doesn't mean you'll get 1 in 20 runs. I've had stretches where I've cleared over 100 Hubs and Havens, with not a single escalation. I've similarly had stretches where I got 2 escalations in a day and another the next day.

There's a little bit more to escalation than just leading to another site. Spawning a Faction Commander NPC is another form of escalation.

CCP is constantly making changes to the game which makes it very tough to keep Evelopedia current.

Also this, though I can't honestly remember the last time I got a faction spawn in a random static site. Gotta be at least 4 years.

Serpentis sites:
hideaway -> Serpentis Narcotic Warehouses
refuge -> Serpentis Narcotic Warehouses
den -> Serpentis Corporation Hydroponics Site

I think i will move to minmatar space now, caldari hisec is a rat race.

Amarr space. You'll find much less competition there than Minmatar and certainly Caldari space.

I know, i live in amarr. Amarr system with it's 6 golden gates is my home.
I'm on exploration mission, updating evelopedia, making some ISK on the way Blink The only one left in amarr to check if escalate is hideaway. I gave up on burrows, they are as rare as dens for me.

Dens literally everywhere in Aridia. If you wanna come check the area out I'll let you know when a favorable wormhole opens up.

Thx, I usually travel in covert ships so wormhole won't be needed :).

Shocked

Recons don't show up on D-scan ?

Damn, I really need to start reading the Patch Notes more often.

When did this go into effect ?

Ugh

EvE update

It was in "Proteus". I would lose it anyway propably, they camped the gates from the system. Gila was good in that fight, manage to fight with four of them: recon, T3, ishtar and ceptor. I'm no pvper so i made few mistakes.
Tip for all: if you see combat probes, run! There won't be any ships on d-scan at acceleration gates. Galls recon is really handy for catching explorers.

As for subject: anybody have escalation from burrows?

Yo!

So my experiment is over. I run 50 Blood Hideaways, keeping tallies for how many Dark Blood rats appear and how many escalations I got.

So, out of 50, I got 3 Dark Blood Frigates to appear, and 0 escalations.

I would like to amend the evelopedia article to read that it doesn't escalate. Also the security in which these appear is erroneous too, I've seen them in 0.2 space.

Dark Blood Rats from Blood Hideaways drop random Blood Faction Ammo S, Dark Blood Copper Tag, and various meta modules like webs and small smartbombs. During this experiment I got a Mid Grade Talisman implant. BPC's like Target Spectrum can drop as well. (like the junk BPC's you get from Data sites)

50 is not a sufficient pool in which to draw a accurate conclusion.

And simply because you have not had any luck doesnt mean that everyone has had no luck.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

It's actually close to 100. Just started tallying them 50 ago. I think it's more than bad luck. I can get 3/10 and 4/10 just fine

It matters not, the odds do not play favorites.
At one point I scanned and ran 4-6 sites a day, every day for 3 months straight in Gallente space and not once did I get an escalation or an officer spawn. On the other hand my son was doing the same thing in Minmatar space and he averaged one site per day that escalated. So while you are compiling statistics be sure to include these as well.

As you can see your 50 or even 100 sites is an insufficient data set to allow for any meaningful conclusions so I would say for now leave the Wki page alone, or at most add your information as a foot note.
