Hi team,

I played for years, years ago, and looking for some casual PVP fun - but I feel so much has changed and I feel like I am stating all over again!

Primarily I want to solo PVP, at least to start off until i meet some like-minded individuals. I want to be able to roam about, get into scraps and likely get blown out of the sky - no problems with that (I have somewhat of a bankroll).

Question is, what is the best value for money solo PVP ship to fly for a returning Gal pilot with 56 mil SPs?
EDIT: also need an idea how to fit the thing!!
I was thinking jumping into an Ishkur and mincing about looking for fresh fish...

Cheers for help!

Vexor is probably the best bang for the buck right now, or maybe a thorax.

Talking more,

Flying crazier,

And drinking more

The fed navy comet looks like fun, it can roam around fw space and get into novice plexes.

vexor as said, great bang for the buck

ishkur is always awesome

the incursus looks to be amazing for a t1 frig.

both destroyers look fun, and for different reasons.

maybe join RvB? they seem very welcoming and have a lot of experienced pilots that will probably help.

Meta 3 rapid light Caracal. Roam around fw space for equally worthless frigs to chew on. After insurance you lose like a mil per loss. Get better and more valuable boats after you find ppl to fly with. Soloing these days = go cheap or go bust.

Yes indeed!
Just bumped into a nice little pirate that was interested in walking me through the merits of a t1 Tristan.
It looked like a nice little morsel to devour until I realised I was in an Atron and he was a little less rusty...

Result = failure!

For a cheap gallente ship, Tristan is pretty darn good. Drones give selectable long range damage and it can get up to some pretty high speeds. It's fun to fly, and I can guarantee you'll **** some people off.

Kite Fit

[Tristan, Kite Tristan]
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Overdrive Injector System II

Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
Medium Shield Extender II
Warp Disruptor II

Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I

Hobgoblin II x5
Warrior II x3

It's not the best fit, but it does a ton of damage and is super quick for being the Fatman.

Yeah kite tristans are all over FW, they are very simple to fly, have decent dps, somewhat selectable damage type, excellent range and decent speed. The biggest issue is that smart pilots will kill your drones if they can't catch you and the tristan only gets 3 spares. Also another bad thing is the Tristan is weak to other kiters since drones apply very poorly to other MWD ships due to the bad drone AI.

More generally, if you like frigates, Gallente's entire lineup is very solid and respectable, you can find roles and uses for almost all their frigates in solo PvP (except maybe the Keres). Same story for the Cruisers, Vexor is arguably the best T1 cruiser around, Thorax is solid and even the Celestis can be fit for solo PvP quite well even though you'd be ignoring the bonuses. Even Battlecruisers are quite viable for solo PvP because of how cheap they are after insurance, you can get a decent Brutix/Myrm for around 20mil after insurance and they can be very effective with some smart flying (the MJD definitely gave BCs are huge boost for solo activities).

TL;DR
Pretty much all the Gallente ships are awesome, go for Frigs/Cruisers and maybe BCs if you want to solo.
