If youre mining but you cycle a strip miner, you arent paying attention, and your ore hold is full; what happens to the ore? Is it transferred back to the rock or does it get wasted?

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Nothing. Not removed from the rock, not dropped in space.

If it did, then mining missions would require 2 days (a dt) to complete as the asteroids in them have exactly the amount of ore that the agent requires to be handed in.

Crystals are damaged the instant a cycle starts, though, whether the cycle produces any ore or not. If you're using T2 crystals lost cycles do add a bit to crystal replacement costs.
