Fixed Grayed-Out Play Button in Launcher (Windows 7).

*Important* This solution seems to be working for others, but be aware in advance that it deletes your Launcher Preferences & Data including Usernames - depending on how many accounts you have, this could prove to be anywhere from a small nuisance to rather a hassle.

This fix has only been tested to address a grayed-out play button in the Launcher while running Windows 7, although it *may* work on other OS also.

It does not appear to help with the separate situation of the play button being pressed but the game not running - I wasn't aware there were multiple categories of Launcher issues.

I'm going to restart my PC now and see if the Launcher remains functional.

Update - So far, so good - one restart later, the Launcher is still working.

Update - still looks to be resolved the following day.

Be on your guard - do not trust too quickly, as there are those who might exploit this weakness.

There appear to be launcher issues of at least 2 sub-types:

1..................THE GREYED OUT PLAY BUTTON

A: this issue has some fixes and they involve following the advice of GM Akilian Game Master

2.................THE PLAY BUTTON IS PRESSED BUT THE GAME CLIENT NEVER RUNS

It might be useful to find out the number of further subtypes in (2).

2.1..............The first subtype appeared in conjunction with virus software

This is the first subtype this happened to both myself and Black Feathers. Is any one else is in this position, or who has solved it?

The OP post here doesn't work for me btw.

Yeah - nothing I've found helps with the issue where the PLAY button is yellow and pressable, but the client never actually loads.

Have that same issue with yellow play but game not starting.

in my windows task manager the exe file, uses precisely 25% cpu load and it stops allocating memory at 86000ish K. Game dont start but the exe file still uses 25% cpu load and the 86kk ram. :(

I dont recall doing videocard driver updates or anything else, in fact i tried 3 diff. gfx drivers with no luck. No updates to firewall , virus programs etc... last launcher patch and it died :(

Same problem, and none of the 823148093840234 suggested fixes work.

Changing folder in launcher settings worked. I moved it to the c:\programs(86)\ccp\cache since people also report about issues using the appdata folders because of permissions
