Carnyx Features Now On Singularity

Placeholder name for now, and it's a versioning number, not a date!

Singularity is now updated to include testable features for the Carnyx release. This thread is for general feedback, so please use feature-specific threads linked below where applicable, and kindly do not start your own threads on topics.

Please note that features will come in over time and that the list will not necessarily comprise the entire content of the release.

Team Trilambda

  • Caracal model has been updated
  • Naga textures have been reworked
  • New shader models and texture maps applied to ships, drones and turrets

Known issues:
Wrecks are using the old icon in the Overview
Sansha fighter bombers are using the wrong icon
Ice and Asteroids are using the wrong icons
Turrets on low shader settings will be shaded red

Launchers on low shaders:

Cruise launchers look like that too. Didn't check turrets because no skills on the character involved.

EDIT: yup, turrets are affected too.

EDIT2:

Is it me, or there's more ambient light or more diffuse reflection or whatever that makes ships actually visible when not under direct sunlight?

Also, ISIS icons were gazillion times better. New ship brackets look horrible. Especially frigates. They suffered a nasty steamroller accident.

Also, the beta map has old brackets.

i downloaded 64mb. am i doing something wrong? :P

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

You undersell the devteam, every single ship has been overhauled as far as I can see, its great!
The caldari ships have undergone huge improvements, be it the basilisk, osprey, flycatcher, rokh... And the oracle o_O

And the dominix ! It could even look pretty under a certain light now :)
Props for the gallente ships btw, they look cool!

I'm not sold on the minmatar rust though, but eh, rust isn't supposed to look cool I guess.

Conclusion: Very good job, congratulations to the art team

WOW! The new Medium shader setting! Just wow, wow, wow!!Big smile
I think I just fell in love with my Barghest again...! So a definite YES to the new V5++ shader and tweaks to the medium texture setting!! Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!! The only one (minor) anomaly I noticed is that some of the reflection maps on some ships (I'll use the Barghest as an example) appear pixelated when viewed from a direct light source.

Two thumbs up on the new Caracal and Cerberus models.

With respect to the icons, for the most part I like the new style and direction you've gone with (missions seem to be limited to Burners, so I wasn't able to run a few L4s to see what a cluster of NPCs would look like). Some of the icons are a tad too large (Stargates in particular), and I think they all need to have a consistent minimum border. I would reduce the Station icon by 1-pixel in diameter and limit the Stargate icon to the same size (Star icons are fine as is, since there's typically only one). I would also change the Stargate icon to extend the white "pie" outside the circle to closer resemble the original.

Is there any chance the art team could post a JPEG or GIF of all the new icons? A lot of these are hard to find in-game (thanks).

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.
