Map is TERRIBLY overcrowded and impossible to use for probe scanning anything down.

this

also i noticed, that most everytime i click on a link in chat (that is, when the in-game-browser should start) my client freezes and crashes. i have to force quit it. this happened to me at least 3 times yesterday.
afterwards the client can not be started sometimes, unless i go to my terminal, look for the wineserver process and kill it manually.

not a mac specific issue, but: the map...
first i thought the new map looks quite good, and it was promised to be highly performant.
now looking at all those animation/zooming going on everytime i activate the map, it takes ages until you can actually use it for anything. and moreover with the "intertia" applied when moving the map around or zooming in and out, i can't imagine how one should be able use it for any serious scanning.

I'm seeing this as well. Turning up the shader setting to High fixes it, but I'd rather be running on Medium, as I run multiple clients frequently.

Using Clonemaker to setup app clones of your master eve install, then using them to run multiple clients fixes this. We as a department are happy to endorse this method.

This is broken. Every time I try to DL and open the clone maker I get this:

“EVE Clonemaker” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

Odd. This used to be the case before Clonemaker was properly code-signed.

I was able to get it working using a workaround found in another thread:

Darryn Lowe wrote:
Just tried it and nope didn't work until I turned off the Security settings. Seeing as I'm not prepared to do that I just right click and Show Package contents. I then go to:

Contents / Resources / Scripts

I then run the Main.scpt file.

To be honest I then save this as an AppleScript application myself.

Downloading is stuck on 0%. Well, actually it downloads, but with ridiculously low speed (couple of kb/sec), despite the fact that i have pretty strong internet connection. Deleting common.ini or re-downloading client doesn't help. Also tried to make it work without launcher but it didn't even let me in. Black screen, and circle "resource downloading" rotating for hours, nothing more.

Running the mac client in windowed mode, I experienced a freeze of the client and had to force quit it. I was just warping to a gate.

I'm missing most of the default jacket choices in character customization, it is down to just two, and I feel like other things might be missing too like a few hairstyles:

Where did they go? I don't remember that in the patch notes.

EDIT: They came back after clearing the cache. Weird glitch though.

One day I'll remember to clear cache BEFORE posting Oops

## The Good:

**UPDATE**
The way-too-cloaky cloak effect only happens when Shader Quality is set to Medium. Changing to Low or High brings it back.

For whatever reason, my graphics options do not include a HIGH setting for Shader Quality so I can't test this. I tried setting it to LOW but it was like having my Rembrandt replaced by a stick figure drawing in crayon :(

Does it count as modifying the client to create a symbolic link from the original client's p_drive in application support for each of the clones?

It wold save people from having to import their settings and arrange the layout to how they like it for all of their characters on each of the clones.

From my limited testing, quitting the game works correctly from the clones and the original client when the above changes are applied. Looking at the Activity Monitor this looks to be due to each clone running its own wineserver. I would look closer at what the problem is for fun, but putting in the hooks to step through the client closing would probably fall under the category of modifying the client and I rather like not being banned.

Regardless, if the problem truly is each instance needing its own wineserver this problem should have been resolved a long time ago as the initial wineserver is not started until you click the giant play button on the first account logged on. This means you could have just set the code to make a new wineserver for each account logged on instead of only creating one instance for all the instances to share. Certainly is a more elegant solution then forcing all of your Mac customers do it for you for each account they own (seems reasonable to assume number of clones made = number of accounts a player has - 1).

soooo.. You guys snuck this one in on me..

Titles are no longer viewable on info tab of pilots.

Its supposed to be not viewable to the public.. but I cannot even see my own titles on my own pilot info screen

Furthermore, Give me the damn option to turn it off!

We use our titles for rank, position and intimidation. We have nothing to hide from the general public, so just as awoxing is selectable, so too should be this bonkers security measure..

The problem from yesterday is repeating itself, EVE Clonemaker is breaking the original version of EVE (not running anymore past making the first clone). This is not a problem until downtime, when the client refuses to update and the clones become instantly outdated/not able to be updated.

(as I am usually playing Eve on a mobile connection I cannot download Eve every night..., apart from a daily reinstall certainly being as intended, anyway? ^^)

Thanks for the feedback, we've taken the decision to revert this change, more info found here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5710624#post5710624

This seems to be a connection/bandwidth problem, on a broadband-connection the launcher did actually boot properly and then downloaded another giant patch. ^^

consider this solved: launcher is fickle when you cannot offer broadband for patching. P

I had something similar. You don't need to fully restart, but you do need to quit the launcher and then wait a minute or so for the zombie cider process to go away.

Unfortunately that minute is precious time when you're getting a ping and logging in alts to help your corpmates, so I ended up just installing wine using homebrew and running the EVE client through that. Haven't had a single freeze since.

You can also open Activity Monitor and force quit the wineserver process. This allows you to log back in immediately and removes having to hope for the process to stop itself (it does not always end itself).

Can confirm the cloaky bug.

For me it's happening on my AMD iMac that only shows Low and Medium (but no high) shader options.

My MacbookPro neither has the missing high shader setting problem, nor the cloaky bug.
