Hey Guys,

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this question but I just read this in the upcoming patch notes.

"Standard containers in space are now also cleaned up during some downtimes, same as other space junk."

Does this mean that anchored freight containers in WHs will get cleaned up at downtime?
Thanks

Pretty sure it means jet cans etc, not anchored containers.

That's what I also initially though, but jetcans dissapear after about 2 hours anyway. I know wrecks dissapear at DT so it would make sense to have cans dissapear too. Better to have clarification though. And you know what CCP is like; they will probably fix the can despawn and something will go wrong, like all POS modules exploding or something hahaha Lol

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

If jet cans dissapear every 2 hours anyway then whats the point of making the change to clear them at downtime? That makes me think its anchored freight containers too... Do devs reply to forums?

Currently, you can jettison a container inside your pos for extra storage, and it will stay there forever (I think I read you have to interact with it monthly, but never tested). That container does not need to be anchored, and anyone who can enter the pos shield can get into it. I used to use them for storing raw ore before the refinery changes came in.

Are these the cans you are talking about?

yeah

Anchoring them in POS's needs to be a thing if they're doing this then.
Paging corbexx...

I asked some CSM reps about this when the patch notes were released

Presumable it only applies to Small, Medium, and Large standard containers but also POS shields aren't special cased so best to exercise caution. We've launched some at our POS along side the enormous freight containers to see which ones are actually affected post-patch

This does not apply to freight containers.

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.

Yeah, I don't use them currently, but having that extra storage space can sometimes be useful.

I'd prefer if cans jettisoned inside a pos shield don't decay, but let them decay at the next DT if the pos shield drops.
