Im getting unable to connect. Its not downtime, so are they patching it or is it another DDOS?

understandable when it didnt go down at the time it was first announced to be going down at late last week.

Actually, maybe they should just change the forum background image with an appropriately red and fiery one during patch time, and add a notification at the top of the forum that we can still post but the game servers are down for patching.

Something like that. Not everyone uses the silly launcher or main webite. 99% just go on the forums or straight to the game itself.

It still baffles me how many people are just blatantly unaware of anything happening in the game and its patches. When FozzieSov goes live there will be people on the forums going 'WTF is this?! Why was I not informed!'.

I am a software developer myself, as many of us are, but i have not seen a company be so bad at estimating downtime.

If you KNOW you suck at it, like CCP does, just tell the customers its going to be offline for 3 hours when you think it will take an hour. Trust me, way less rage posting, and way more happy customers.

- Customers think the patch is bigger than it is
- Customers are happy about it being online earlier than it "should be" when it is
- Company has some time to fuckup and fix things (as it never works flawlessly) and have time for coffea.
