I am considering getting an ssd drive, but I have some questions on it and want to make sure my expectations are reasonable :)

I got an alienware laptop with an unused msata slot. Can an ssd drive in an msata slot be used as data drive, or is it more intended to be used as a cache-drive for a normal hdd? as that's how theye seem to be used on pretty much all dell setups

my idea was to put some read-heavy games on it, like heavely modded skyrim or total war games. Seems to me a ssd will help as there seems to be quite a lot of data to read on scene changes. Can I use an msata ssd for that, or will I have to replace my normal hdd for that?

also, besides faster boot time, is there any benefit for wind'ohs to be installed on an ssd?

if dell didn't hard code it or something out of sheer stupidity msata should work for what you want ie like normal ssd drive.

i use ssd for windows as well for that snappy feel that your machine start expressing all around.
