Do you perhaps think that people think suicide ganking should be easier because it is currently swayed massively in favour of the gankee? Why CCP removed insurance I will never know.

All a miner has to do is be at a keyboard to avoid a gank, and they receive insurance if they die.

If both parties are at they keyboard and neither is a massive ****** then the miner should survive every single time. There are hundreds of other preventative measures the miner can take to avoid ever being in this situation as well.

I honestly can't argue with them taking insurance away from gankers, its a realistic model, if you drive off in your car after commiting a string of murders, and it gets totaled while your running from the cops, the Insurance Company does payout, and in a game that trumpets its value in realism, why would you expect any less?

Only a suicidal individual would want a fair fight.

I like taking on three at once myself in games like counter-strike, that makes it more fair for them :D

Exactly. I mine/mission 50-50 and it's been a year since a Gank for me. They are avoidable 99.9% of the time.

Check Battleclinic or whatever and search for Toons with high Hulk and Mack losses.

In fact, this sounds like a fun project for an alt tonight......

Or, what the heck. It's boring watching my security at 5.0. More interesting when it climbs at least.Twisted

Welcome to eve, not it is not.

Do you think a real company would payout insurance to someone who leeroys a battleship through low sec unscouted?

Do you think a real company would payout insurance to someone who fits his dread with a large armor repper?

Do you think a real company would insure a cyno kessie?

Eve does not trumpet its value in realism.

Arrangements for equivalent situations can indeed be made with Real Life Insurance companies.

They even insured Marilyn Monroe's legs for $1,500,000 1950's Dollars and she took a blade to them everyday................

a real company would lawl at you for doing the equivalent of leaving your car unlocked with keys in the ignition in the worst part of town, that is, AFK mining in a system with numerous ganks in the past hour

a real company would also laugh at you for blowing up your own car and trying to claim insurance on it

get out of here with this realism crap, this is a space game where the ships move more like submarines and where landing a ship right next to the sun isn't going to fry you at all, and there is apparently no gravity

Yes I'm sure real insurance companies payout about 4X the money they receive from premiums. (number from an economic report about isk sinks / facets)

At least you have insurance from a real life perspective on insurance. usually only the rich have it, so only the rich gankers and miners could afford and no one else.

Takes MONTHS to get into a Hulk, and Gankers can POP in DAYS.

Erm, I'm not rich and I have insurance.................where on Earth do you live where it is 'for the rich'?

Just a curious statement that needs some clarification if you are going to make such pronouncements on the Forum.......

I really don't think thats true. I would happily pay double for a PVE version of Eve. Balancing a PVE server would be cake. Add more NPC's and keep cranking up their difficulty until you got a stable economy. Hell you could even have random NPC fleets attack POS's and any other player owned or operated structure.

Notice the language they use like "river of tears'. My God, I love literature and wordplay, but these quasi-religious histrionics really show the truly insane picture here.

Anyway, I'm not sure what a solution to all of it is, but a non-PVP region or 2 might be the solution.

Sometimes, people just want to actually 'relax after work casually' in a game and that should be a part of a sandbox.

It's not crying about dying (learn how to spell SmegB), it's being 'involuntarily engaged'.

I believe that is called R A P E.

bad thing is: suicide ganker isn't much more than "a bit more danger rat". NPC rats can do suicide gank easily. So there is no real difference for gankee.

I lost some hulks to occasional "too heavy" rat spawns. And i lost ships to gankers. Didn't feel the difference.Big smile

So for carebear side players-gankers aren't needed at all. Their role can be taken by rats should CCP make rats more smart and danger.
