C3 WH soloing without missiles

Hello everybody,

I'm looking for something to solo C3 anoms in hostiles (or at least not friendly) wormholes. Also I don't want a Marauder which is way to expensive for this kind of risky farming imo. I'm skilled for Gallente, Amarr and Minmatar ships.

Gila with augmented hammers will do C3 anoms just fine.
This is fit i use - http://take.ms/xLNKI - Invuln field can be swapped for another amp in site that neuts. Missile dps on gila is pretty supplementary anyway. Carry a depot and refit for extra beta reactor when more tank is needed.

With good skills you can solo C3 sites in most T1 battleships as well. I like to use a pulse Apoc with a large rep + large ancill rep that I sometimes pulse on the higher dps waves. With T2 pulse weapons, at least one web and medium drones you have pretty good damage application. Probably not as efficient as a Tengu or Gila but with plat insurance and a T2 fit if you get dropped on you only lose about 80-90mil.

Yeah I used to bring a passive shield Dominix, but I get ganked and I've not bought an other one yet. I checked the Gila and without sufficient missiles DPS is really low. I'll take a look at the Apocalypse. Also when I use T1 ship I never think about insurance which is a really strong feature I should use it more often.

Ganking just happens. you wont get warning in some cases. dscan will determine which site you are at, no need to probe. Remember drones deter sbs but not a whole lot else. Always insure ships that are likely to be ganked.

Yep you're 100% right. I often use a bunch of T1 Frigates and Cruisers in PvP and never insure them, and it's stupide because it makes me lose a lot of money.

Also, ganks are often committed by 2 or 3 pilots, usually in covert T3. Against this setup, maybe I could refit to a deployed mobile depot (if they aren't sharp enough to shoot it ofc) to a pure PvP layout, really tough against covert T3. I'll think about that too.

Warmonger Simon: How do you use that Gila? You just warp in, drop your drones and sit still while they go to work, or you fly around? (Yeah, probs a stupid question)

You keep moving, that helps prevent ganks.

With no prop mod, I don't know how much moving will do to prevent ganking...
Anyway, there may be some damage mitigation in moving.

You're welcome. 733 DPS, tanks 750 EM/Therm DPS, unscrammable prop mod to both get you out of danger and speed tank the sleepers. If you know how to use drones in wormholes you will only ever lose light drones and even that will be rare. Salvager/tractor to vacuum up nanoribbons for extra profit. Has all the tools you could ever want for hiding or watching the hole. Is as gank resistant as a PvE ship can possibly be, you have a giant explosive hole but literally nothing used for WH PvP shoots explosive damage.

This is a very high skill fit, fyi. It has less than 1 PG to spare, you need Armor Rigging V to fit it.

Thanks for the Proteus fit. It hardly works and costs a lot, but it works.

However, I'm not trying to solo anymore. I've set up a small POS, I roll every whole but the static, have a scout on it, and farm anoms and even relics / data with a pair of shield RR Domis. It works very nicely, the only thing I'm lacking of is a web. Maybe I could swap to an armor RR fit with a lower DPS (690 instead of 750) but 2 Omni Tracking Link, to help me scorch sleepers cruisers with Garde II.

For those who want to solo, imo your best bet is to roll every WH, place a scout on your static and fly a pimped passive tank rattlesnake. It's expensive (~ 1B) but not that risky if you're careful.

Ishtars can solo sites as well. Minor bling tank needed.

Domi to expensive, uses Gila instead.

Nothing besides Stratios, drone prot, legions, tengus, lokis and pilgrims does explosive damage. Good thing those aren't the ships ganking you usually.

MTU/Mobile Depot and orbit around while salvaging where neut pressure isn't a problem. There's usually intel/dscan if anyone shows up near. Bail immediately

Had to post this, pretty epic. Not efficient at all and you'll probably lose it, but if you want to actually pilot your ship and have fun you can even do C3s in a Zealot.

That being said, Legion can easily solo C3s in a reasonable fit with little pimp and decent dps. As mentioned Gila can work as well. You said no missiles but passive tank Drake is one of the cheapest ships you can use for solo C3.

I used to do it with a Legion but it took ages to kill frigates.

Domis aren't that expensive, and they throw a lot of DPS. You clean and loot an anomaly within 7 - 9 minutes, with 2 Dominix. It's a good income for 500M ISK on grid. It can also clear relics and datas, easily. Maybe with some pimp it could deal with C4 anoms.
