Low sec surprise

For a while now I've been considering moving out of high sec into low sec. I was doing some scouting and decided to engage a rat I found In a asteroid belt. My little cheap fit punisher was doing well when I saw a ship pop up on my overview.

My first thought was ' Damn I'm popped for sure '. So I started taking damage when I managed to warp away to safety. To my surprise the attacker struck up a conversation and actually invited me to apply to a corp.

Low sec is turning out to be interesting and is shaping up to be a lot of fun.

I know a lot of new bro's and hisec residents don't read the forums but I would encourage anyone who hasn't to at least give it a try. You might be surprised at what you find.

Advice: for starters use cheap ships with cheap fits. And put on your thick skin, you will be popped. Don't let it get to you, the natives are just trying to say hello lol.

Some of the best people I met in this game started out in my gun sites.

i dont understand where the " low-sec is instant death" stigma came from, but low-sec definitely offers a lot of freedom that high doesnt.

enjoy the low-sec life, its a good one.

I live in null sec atm but Low sec is a great place for learning PvP (if thats why your their) i have had alot of good experiences in low sec.

When i first started playing eve i was terrified of low sec due to all the stories i hear but too be fair its not that bad yes people camp ect but doesnt mean you will die...

I really don'y know. Tried to find fun in low-sec... But outside of pvp (which is fun but i don't want to spend all my game time to it) i simply see no reasons to be there.
For me high-sec presents a lot more interesting environment: enemies, "friends", neutrals (and neutrals are real - they won't attack you 'just because i can'). Even just doing RL stuff and monitoring local chat provides some fun.
It's like live in city in comparison to some battlezone or something like it.

aside from jita and other market hubs, i don't see any active local chats in high sec as well.

The offical "Help"-chat mostly, I would say.
You know, the chat where mostly Miners (for who else has the time to do so while playing EvE?) hang out and "advise" new players how to make money (with mining, of course) and what to avoid (Low-Sec = instadeath!)....

This thread has been moved to EVE New Citizens Q&A.

I have also removed some rule breaking posts and those quoting them.
The Rules:
5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

27. Off-topic posting is prohibited.

Off-topic posting is permitted within reason, as sometimes a single comment may color or lighten the tone of discussion. However, excessive posting of off-topic remarks in an attempt to derail a thread may result in the thread being locked, or a forum warning being issued to the off-topic poster.

30. Posts that distort the forum layout are prohibited.

Posts that are deliberately designed to distort the layout of the EVE Online forums, or character names that are of an inappropriate length and stretch the forums will be removed. This kind of behavior is deemed as being in opposition to the community spirit that CCP would like to promote, and posts of this nature will be deleted. Users who engage in this type of behavior may face temporary suspension or permanent revocation of their forum posting privileges.
