I have been trying to log on and have been getting the error that I am running a pre-release version. I have tried running repair.exe and then running to launcher without any success. I have also tried running exefile.exe again with out any luck.

I generally run through steam (where I originally got the game in December 2012).

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Are you by chance using Windows 7 64bit? Or perhaps is your internet provided through Charter? These are both true for me and I'm also having launcher problems.

I am experiencing a similar problem with the launcher. I don't get the error message but my launcher says that it 'Failed to download update for EVE Online Launcher'. So cant play the game, have tried the suggested work arounds and no luck.

Similar faults here. 64 bit windows 7. Have not tried Repair or clicking "Yes", I'm guessing - at best it would be useless.

Working now: I clicked yes & got something like "..failed to load.."

Tried again for some reason & it worked

I get the same error, but I clicked yes and was able to login. Not sure why this message is occuring. It was fine earlier today

I get the pop-up window saying I have a pre-release version of EvE Launcher as well. Launcher Update fails. I have Windows 7 64 bit os.

Normally I would figure this is just a build bug, probably is to be honest, but I am not taking any chances. I won't attempt a log-in until CCP provides a fix for the launcher. It would *** if this is some kind of malware targeting the EvE Launcher.

Same issue here with the Pre-Release thing - I ran repair.exe and it didn't help. Windows 8.1 64bit

I have a vpn in my router. When its enabled and connected, I get the "running pre-release launcher error" or EVE Offline. Also cannot connect to any eve websites first try, connection reset errors.

If I disable the vpn, launcher works perfectly fine, websites load without error.

Same issue here with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. However clicking "OK" allows me to login as per normal.... though it took a while to realise this. :/

Running Eve from the exefile.exe works fine. The launcher is completely broken.

too bad players couldn't vote where to invest time developing. Pretty sure the launcher would be on the bottom of the list. I didn't like it when they introduced it, and it's never worked right since.

I'm still having issues with this. I firstly ran repair.exe which decided to delete my ResCache Sad and didn't fix anything.

I then uninstalled completely and re-installed eve and the launcher is still complaining about being a pre-release version.

Would be nice if someone from CCP could comment as many of us seem to be having this issue.

There was a near 100 MB download this evening when I tried the launcher. Seems to have fixed the problem. GL folks.

This happens to me too, I use steam and tried to verify game integrity, and oh boy that was a bad idea, steam will download 7.5gb of file when you do that. Evil
