New clothing items on the market

Really, CCP? Recolours? Is that your brilliant micro transaction strategy? Where is all the stuff your "fashion designer" must have made over the years you have been working on WiS? Where is the stuff you took away from us when you introduced the new character creator?

And while I am asking, did you do any research into the fashion taste and demands of your customers, or at least had a glance at the stuff that sells in other games/"virtual worlds" with for pay character customisation options?

Don't like your clothes? Follow steps:

1. Give stuff
2. Uninstall

You could not use any of my stuff, Brock. Their "innovative" character engine does not allow for cross-dressing, after all.

Edit:

It's not what I would want, but I would love to find stuff like this in the NeX. At least it would be something people are actually buying IRL.

I'm not one for fashion or dress up. But I was half expecting elaborate, elegant, flowing, rich, opulent clothing the likes seen in the original WiS demo. But, what we got was Walmart, off the shelf, starch pressed clothing. It's the kind of stuff found in any two bit store....oh I already mentioned that....Walmart. Quite disappointing both on the aesthetic and pricing fronts.

Recolors in and of themselves aren't really bad. They add variety. It would be nice to see some of the more outlandish styles that were available in the old character generator, and most likely some are in the works.

But I do not entirely understand CCP's pricing model. In theory, the demand for some color schemes might be higher than for others. However, the NEX seems to take that idea to absurd levels. An item using one color scheme in the NEX might cost two or three times more than that same item using a different color scheme. But CCP has, according to the summit minutes, done quite a bit of research into virtual clothing pricing, so probably there's a reasonable explanation for it.

I would much rather have seen a customization model more along the lines of being able to purchase a certain item of clothing and having the option to modify the color scheme post-purchase. Even if it means having to pay a couple hundred ISK to do so, idealy.

Then again, a pair of boots happen to cost more than plenty of extremely advanced starships do. So logic isn't exactly expected when it comes to the Noble Exchange.

Lets face reality here....current CCP management doesn't know what the f**k they're doing. Seriously!. We're seeing finished product here. I can't imagine what the preliminary models looked like. I would have fired the designers on the spot had they wasted their time to bring to me what amounts to off the shelf clothing styles with a bit of colored trim.

CCP has said they are feeling their way along here, learning what works and what does not when it comes to MT. So expect slow additions. Also I think they do not want to spike the PLEX. If they did add something wildly popular the PLEX could well go over 500 million.

After all how many people get their Aurum from PLEX they bought with money? Most I expect were obtained by spending ISK.

I think you fail to grasp the point that most of the posters do not care for tweeks of a system they despise and want gone.

there are much bigger fish to fry than adding clothing assets to the clients to drive up nex sales.

ok so the assets are ready to go and were in the pipe well before this, ok fine, but it seems with some of the basic issues here yet to be fixed like the window bug, their stealth deployment in the most recent patch is somewhat irksome.

I'd like the person in charge of making the descisions of what the art direction is for clothing to look at the old character creator and read the EVE lore and then come back to us with some designs that actually fit the game.

From what I understand this is being done by 3rd party people outside of CCP and I can't understand why CCP are letting them **** all over this part of the rich lore and backstory that made EVE so unique.

Many people may not care about clothing in EVE, but hopefully we can agree that if CCP is going to do this, they should at least do it right.

It has actually proven to be a sad day for EVE when the Nex was implemented because now anything to be added is based on how much money can be made from it rather than what is appropriate for the enrichment of the game.

Nex (Cash Shop) / Aurum - removing sand from the sandbox since Incarna. Currently the only use for aurum is to buy virtual items in the in-game store, but Cockerill expects to expand its uses in the future.

TBH I couldn't give a flying Feck what colour, shape or form clothes appear on the market.
I play FiS

When the opportunity arrives (if it ever does) to run a business in a station then I may be interested - so long as the interface and mechanics are better than that a poor CEO has to deal with. Evil

In the meantime there are far worse issues with the game than the colour of your pants (or whatever).

Believe in what they do, not what they say.

There are 2 points :
1. In your Pod you are nekkid
2. You don't lose your Clothings when someone pods you

So it is clear when u buy this new shiny Shirt for some Billions, you don't buy one, but one in EVERY Station in New Eden.

Better now? ( before and after portrait comparison ) But seriously, what is the point of being all made up and business like, when I can't even leave my room?

I would pay Aurum for some Veldspar earrings.
