Why would I care?

I am talking about nullsec. Nullsec is the thing apparently! It's sov this, sov that, GOONS, BRAVE, TEST, N3, the coup, the counter-coup, the entosis link, sex drugs and rock'n roll. And sov. I have learned that many of these people play in highsec as well as nullsec, but nullsec bores them for :reasons: until their great saviour ccp fozzy magically transforms sov into fozzysov and everything will be A-OK or not. Maybe.

It is quite obvious why it is being released during summer so I see them putting a lot of hope and dreams into it. Now I ask you to please enlighten me and answer my question.

Why would I care?

PS: There is nothing written "in between the lines". Is there a need to care? Would highsec population half permanently? Would it boost the game as a whole? Will it not matter at all for those who are ignorant enough? Will it have any quantifyable impact onto what other people outside of nullsec do? People know answers to questions I might not even know existed!

My answer will be: I live in highsec and enjoy living in highsec. I love enforcing the Code, ganking miners, hyperdunking freighters, scamming, ransoming and extorting money and assets out of my fellow players, preaching half-religious, half-psychological stuff about why grinding is bad.

I don't care about nullsec and anything related to nullsec. Let those who enjoy owning sov, taking part in fleet fights and being part of something bigger have their fun. Let them say their usual arrogant elitist stuff about highsec, I don't care. My fight is the one against complete carebearization of highsec. I don't understand much in sov mechanics, so I'll let the pros decide what's better for them. In turn, I create the environment which is best suited for me and oppose the decisions I consider bad for highsec and ask the 'fuuuuu ganking/piracy is evul and immoral because gankers can't eve go to null" crowd that has nothing constructive to propose to please get out of the way.

Do what you enjoy doing, choose whatever is considered best for you, be tolerant towards others and take pride in it.

I've never seen THAT happen before.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

OP you'll care once the null-lords looks for something to blame if the changes do not work out as expected they will, cause in turn the cycle debate/agenda will begin once again

We must figure out a way to force players into null sec.

high-sec is the enemy, we must force them to move to null for XYZ reason and yada, yada, yada pride.

now some will stay in null, but many will eventually get worn out and move back to high-sec.. which where the agenda will kick in forcing them back into null-sec for "make-believe" reasons.

ccp should honestly blow up jita and the other trade hubs to push this..

then I'd bet you will care.

You may not care. I won't. I haven't.
I can watch waves crash down on a beach and not care too.

But the people who put in time will care. They built sandcastles on the beach.

But seeing how they have basically become overlords of a sort, sitting fat and rich on moon goo, I won't be sharing in any grief they may have.

A Trolloceptor might be fun though.

No I would not care.

(I assume your post is a serious one, I have trouble with detecting sarcasm at times)

Personally... blow up Jita, and Dodixie, and Hek, and Renz, and Amarr. Blow up all the trade hubs. It wouldn't bother me in the least. I am confident the Players would find new systems to use as Trade Hubs and maybe even get away from the trade hub concept altogther if CCP got cranky enough about them.

Even if CCP did blow up the Trade Hubs I will never and I repeat never move to NullSec. I'd rather live in LowSec to be bluntly honest.

The only way CCP could force me into NullSec would be to change EvE from a Sandbox into a Themepark MMOG and force into a "Funneled Experience" like in some of the other MMOs where they have almost no freedom where the go and what direction to take. If CCP did that I would be gone.

In a Sandbox MMOG some Players will choose a path others do not like nor understand, and that IS acceptable because it is the nature of a Sandbox MMOG to offer that kind of free will choice in the game. To force Players to go here or do that would negate that Sandbox feature entirely, and in doing so remove the reason why EvE is so awesome.

I'm on my third stint in this game now and I've spent the overwhelming majority of my time in lowsec.

Null is too much damn work (4 AM CTA to rep a pos? No thanks...), highsec is boring and CONCORD hates me having fun anyway.

If Sov changes cause a lot of conflict, and therefore a lot of destruction, it will have a pretty strong effect on the markets in high sec. Possibly less so than it did in the past, but it would still be noticeable and depending on the level of destruction, pretty significant.

You should care because we still have to buy **** from you in highsec.

In CCP's vision, we stop shopping from you, so the isk stops flowing into high.

if you're do very little by ways of taking part in the making of history in EVE (not just the big stuff) then yea maybe you shouldn't care. but to ignore such a large change?
would it not be foolish to take the why should i care stance?
