Freighters and bumping

Recently the bumping seem to be the trend of trapping freighters without any consequences.
Single ship can keep freighter from getting nowhere or more like anywhere it would like to go.

Here is some more fuel to the brainstorming of the issue:

Freighters are large massive ships that are robust to keep all cargo in place and still able to move.
So what happends to ship when it 'hits the rock' ? Direct hull(/module) damage for impacting ship would affect how many times one could use ship for bumping, before it needs repair. That will cost time or isk.
Ships have low power bumpers, but planned ramming is going to hurt. Effect would be immediate % damage to hull, or with timer that if you bump again within, you take damage. So first hit in you might get away with it, but then you need to wait for bumperfield to charge back to prevent next impacts damagepotential.
Small ships mostly wont be affected by this factor, since freighters own delfection field is strong enough to keep them from coming to direct hull to hull contact. Flying 2km/s+ might just do the 'fly in windscreen'-effect Lol

Rebound-module. This would counterhit the ramming ship by storing the kinetic energy on hull and deflecting it back. This would cause various damages on ramming ship(hull/armor/module) depending speed and mass of objects taking part of collision. Maneuver reduction timers from concussion effect. Bigger ships can store more of incoming force. Maybe limited to only faster than certain speeds/force and possible have rechargedelay.

Sapping module. Ships hitting freighter will have their maneuver/max speed reduced by X% for Y seconds. Reduction and duration would be affected by impact speed and force. Freighter could gain momentary boost to maneuvering from the drained energy.

Mass stabilizer-module. Freighters mass would be artificialy increased by the module in relation of its current speed and other big masses nearby. While stationary, multiplier would be very high, making ship almost inert to outside forces. Other big masses, like stations, would reduce modules effectivity when present near couple km range. No, you wont make blockade to or from station with huge fleet of freighters Twisted
While freighter accelerates, it would be easier to bump off from target course, but one would need several/swarm of ships to apply constant force to disrupt ships from maneuvering to its target course.

Module solutions would take away from ships hull strenght or carge capacity for increased protection for this kind of harasment. With these, might be possible that no changes to current suspect/criminal flag system is not needed.
What becomes of ramming, flying your ship wrecklessly might cost you a lot of ISK or even your ship.

If you want to use suspect kind of system, enough many bumps to same target would increase chance that any ship hitting it hard enough would give target ships pilot bump-suspect rights on ramming ships pilot. Working just like kill rights, one could trigger it to turn the bumper to bump-suspect. If target under it would do another bump in 30-60mins, it would flip to real suspect status for 1 hour.
Since chain is not automatic on all parts, victim of bump can select to not trigger flagging for people who are actually helping by nudging to right direction. This will give some leverage vs normaly unsanctioned action. Bump-suspect rights would be in effect for 30 days and are tradeable among pilots. You could extort your offenders to cashing their bump-suspect flagging rights or return back for those generated vs pilots that helped you. Sell or donate them to people patrolling traderoutes/counter bumping, to put use as weapon for their aims.

Is the search function broken? Most of these ideas have been suggested countless of times already.

Reported for redundant thread.

There is no problem with bumping.

Nothing at all new here, please use the search function.

CCP has already made the statement that bumping is fine, not an exploit and not griefing.

use/hire a scout. friends are good too: freighters aren't meant to fly solo. You can, but you can also flagellate yourself with a mackerel. Just cause you can doesn't mean you should, and if you do, expect people to have no sympathy and have them point and laugh.

There is also the space anchor, usable in LOW SLOTS the old timers didn't have, to minimize losses. the low slots are so you can make your freighter not worth the gankers time. use with webbing scout, and you're just too much hassle. although that might not save you either.

You got it good, just play smarter.

Use the force without consent and the court wont acquit you even if you are a card carryin', robe wearin' Jedi.

"Recently..." yes, for last 4 or 5 years

btw i got much more interesting fix for this problem: replace bumping with ramming mechanic Twisted
RIP hisec market hubs undocks...
