New Player - year long sub promo not valid?

Hello. I am a new player. I was debating on going and grabbing the yr upgrade promo that is listed as:

12 Month EVE subscription
$99.99
Signup and Registration
Fanfest 2015 Quafe Special - Ship Skins
Trial upgrade reward - 12 Months

It included:

Free Venture Mining Frigate
Free Exploration Frigate 4-Pack
Free Cybernetic Avatar Items
Free Sansha's Nation Attire
Fanfest Quafe Frigate skin
Fanfest Quafe Cruiser skin
Fanfest Quafe Battleship skin

I am being told in the Rookie Help chat that I should check tos ee if it's still valid because it supposedly ended a few days ago. Is this still a promo that I can successfully purchase or is it no longer applicable? I can get to the checkout with a cost of 99.99 but don't want to pull the trigger without knowing for sure.

The special offers tend to come and go quickly so I'd be surprised if a Fanfest offer is still open - especially if you're not seeing anything on the signup screen.

Is there something in particular you want in that offer? The ships you can get for free in the career training missions. Sometimes you can petition CCP to see if they will give you a particular item for a trial account signup even if the offer has expired. You can also do a google search for other offers.

p.s. I'm a fan of the year long sub for a new account. It will remove the misguided temptation to try to plex your account when you're new.

No I AM Seeing it at the signup.. I have it in the 'cart' and it lists all of these items. However people in the Rookie Help chat said they thought it was discontinued already. The fact it is in my cart at present waiting to be paid for lends me to believe that it is still available but I was hoping to get some confirmation. A GM sent me to https://secure.eveonline.com/upgrade/ which shows current upgrades, and in fact the promo I have in my cart is listed there so it must still be available then if I understand correctly.

Typically if a promo is available to you then is shows up on your account management page. I can't say this is always true but you should start there.

You mention that you are debating on using this promo and then even say "listed as:" so where ever you are seeing that listed it should have details and links. I'm unclear as to why you are coming here to ask details of something that you seem to be reading the details of.

If you have it in your cart and they let you check out with it and charge your credit card then they have to give it to you. To not do so would be fraud. So if you want the offer just check out. If it no longer exists they might decline the transaction but you won't know for sure until you try it.

Again if you are looking at it on your screen in your cart and you want to purchase it then I am not certain why you are not going to check out instead of asking here if it is possible. Unless I am understanding your question improperly.

I was asking about the promo in Rookie Help, and people said I should confirm that it was still active before I went ahead and bought it. That's all. They said it wasn't supposed to be available any more.

I did go ahead and purchase it, as I said I had it in cart, but the people in the chat seemed to act like that did not mean anything. I have since purchased it, and did in fact get all the items that were listed as part of the new player year long sub promo.

I just hope I can enjoy eve for a year now :) It seems like a great game from all the video's I have watched about it.

I played ultima Online years ago but most heavily in 99-01 and really enjoyed it's faction warfare pvp system so hoping to get in to that hear.

My advice: don't ask anybody in Rookie chat anything.

Find the NPC channel and ask in there, or go to the Help channel - the Help channel would likely be the more reliable one.

You should be able to. There is so much to do. If you ever find yourself getting bored or frustrated it is most likely because you are trying to solo eve which is an MMO. Don't get me wrong some people can solo this game but most do better in groups. So meet people and make friends as well as try lots of different stuff out.

Not entirely true. Many vets in Rookie Help to assist players.

But as it is EVE, only trust the people with colored text and if you want to have an official answer / statement >>> Petition it

Public roams channels: RvB Ganked / Redemption Road / Spectre Fleet / Bombers bar / The Content Club

You'll probably enjoy it. The changes they've announced in the recent few dev blogs are pretty good.

in general I find if you can put things in the cart they are still available.

I just did the skin offer for existing accounts, so I would assume the new one works too.

Ahh Ultima... Good old days. Eve has way more depth and I hope you'll enjoy it here as well.

I swear I read a Dev post that they had extended the offer until the 15th, but I can't find it now. The offer was supposed to end on the last day of March.

I found a great corp and plan to get in some pvp later tonight with my newly trained executioner. They've already made sure I have everything I need to get involved and having some fun.

Just wanted to say thanks again for everyone who had some input regarding the situation.

Goons take care of their newbies extremely well and Karmafleet is run by one of the better higher up Brave had. He's in a good spot.
