This thing called "anti-ganking"

Anti-ganking often does save the target. With the use of ECM ships and Logi we have a very good chance of saving a targeted freighter.

But the main point about anti-ganking is that is makes the gankers job much harder. Left to their own devices with an active gank fleet they would bump a freighter, gank it and move on to the next target. Often ganking 4 or 5 a session.

With an anti ganking fleet there we often make have to send wave after wave without success. Each time we stop a wave we have prevented the ganking of another freighter in that same time period.

We failed to protect one frieghter from them, but they still had to send four gank waves at it to kill it. So this represents 3 ganks that were stopped over the same time period and it reduces their profit margins.

That said I wish more of my fellow anti-gankers would bring logi and ECM, Concord will provide the dps.

So, anyway, what I am taking away from this thread:

1) Use an alt and shoot the wreck to make the gankers cry.
2) Use a lot of ECM

What about:

3) Gank their bumping Macherials?
4) Web the freighters to help them escape?

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

I have now seen (as of last night) 2 cases of a fleet of gank talos on a freighter that drops a measly 1 - 2 million ISK.


It does not matter what anybody say, or how they feel. Economic warfare is still the most effective. You can only sacrifice ships for no payout for so long. Sure they'll say they did it for the tears. But tears won't buy a plex.

That is correct, but won't likely affect ganking anytime soon. Especially when many gankers are alts of some mega corp main and have an endless supply of isk to waste while bored. With the possibility to make isk during the process ofc. No, not all gankers are alts, but I am pretty sure everyone in here knows the basics. Give me access to 100bil ISK and I will gank everyday, with xAlts and call out its about tears.

Most things in EVE (at least in its current state) are about who has more isk and bigger numbers to waste. When you can fund several disposable accounts with ganking alts, while you continue to accumulate isk in some safe corner, there is nothing anyone can ultimately do to stop you. You can just adjust your gameplay and have fun with or against them.

Economic warfare is indeed the most effective and I would like to see some point where it actually affects the game. Unfortunately like some things in EVE the main problem with it is it's obsolete. EVE is an old game and the freedom given to players 5 or 10 years ago within the sandbox doesn't contribute in the game evolving anymore. Why? Because this freedom mutated into power control. And in a sandbox power sets the rules, whether if you like them or not. The outcome depends on whether you abuse it or not. I won't go into more details cause they belong in another topic however.

Why would anyone be worried about anti-gankers ?

I've found most of them very nice people to talk to in local while I'm waiting for more customers, so far I've had around 12 or more happily sitting with my vexor on gate with maybe one or two kills lost.

I enjoy the company, please don't be strangers.

People aren't worried about them, they're confused as to what they think they are accomplishing given that generally speaking they aren't very effective.

Hello, proud part-time anti-ganker here. Actually I had to move onto other things, due to boredom. I can't be arsed to 3 gankers who got a kill an hour ago, 14 jumps away. By the time I get there, everybody's docked up and AFK doing something else on their mains. Bah.

No matter, was much fun and good friends met during the The Conference Elite campaign around Uedama, Sivala, Isanamo, etc. Claimed it as your own, smack talked, played head-twister with people in Local. No hate, was much fun. We did the counter-same. Anything to make it less fun for a noob Miner Bumping channel guy, in a ship or otherwise, was fair game. As the saying goes, "What's good for Lucy Goosey is good for Anders Gander." Something like that.

Anyway, due to efforts by many quiet, patient, and long-suffering people, we are still here. And also to the intel and efforts of wild random newbros of various stripes, who weren't necessarily dumb just because they were new.

Anyway, some gankers claimed those field, and fought hard on em for about a year, but abandoned them. We control the field. It's not our fault if they weren't having fun around there anymore, and joined Goons. Or maybe it was.Twisted

The fact that there are three people whining like the anti-gankers raped their favorite cute puppy to death in front of them on the first page of the thread alone is the motivation.

They're harvesting your sad, incompetent high-sec ganker tears. I'd say their activity was just as silly, but you guys' days are apparently being completely wrecked and you're feeding them what they want, so I guess they win this one.
