Hi!
We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Thursday, April 9th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time).

What exactly is being tested?
  • SKINs
  • New effect for the POS forcefield
  • New building effect for POS structures

How to connect to Singularity for this test:

Test steps:
Probably similar to:

  1. Meet in FD-MLJ in station
  2. Switch SKINs in station
  3. Undock and warp to X-BV98 gate
  4. Switch SKINs
  5. Jump to X-BV98
  6. Warp to POS beacon
  7. Shoot the control tower
  8. Watch while new tower is anchoring
  9. Align to Poitot gate
  10. Fleet 1: Jump to Poitot and setup gate camp
  11. Fleet 2: Jump to Poitot + fight at the gate

What else should I know?
  • We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme
  • 2M Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test
  • Bring many different ships with SKINs (with activated SKIN licenses)

I really like the new POS Shield, looks so much better. It is a little off centered, top cone coming down a little to the right and bottom cone off to the left. Rotating a degree or two will fix that.

POS effect a little cheesy, looks like a black circle that just gets smaller until the POS is fully exposed. Try a clocking effect like how ships de-clock with the POS.

The Array setup effects that looks like lasers is really cool, keep that one.

Last thing. I will participate in the mass test, last time I did not get my skill points which was disappointing but I really don't care about that.

No, and a mirror won't happen anytime soon i believe since it wasn't a long time ago since the last one (usually 3 months before each mirror)

You can re-activate any new toons by asking a mod/CCP dev here on the forums , others usually just do that

So.....the obvious question....why are you devoting valuable dev time to 'make pretty' a system that you've stated you are replacing *soon*...seems like a waste of resources, but what do i know.

These features will be part of the new structures, I would imagine.

they are just putting them in to test before putting it in the new models.

So are you saying with the new structures we will also have posses as optional structures ?

if you will give 2 mill sp on Tranqulity i will come... you can make your test alone... this we pay for this game... so give something for players ... i will not come for free.

Give 2 milion sp on Tranquility server reward and i will come.

If POSs are slated to be removed soon™ then why are you putting resources into them?

Agree. How does extra SP on a test server benefit players???

Perhaps that was a typo by CCP (?)

Therefore, I'm inclined not to participate. These tests always happen w/very short notice. When you are an adult, have a FT job, and live -6 GMT time zone, and a noob, it's difficult to join these. And yet an extra 2 MM SP would benefit a noobie the most. I wish CCP would provide 2-3 days notice, not <24 hours.

Just like lklivexyx says above, "What is in it for me?".

1. You create a game that at its very core is ALL about investing time into your toons. It is the basis of the game per CCP design with much emphasis of tribalism, piracy, and materialistic agendas.

2. We do pay CCP both for access. (And within the term "access", maintenance and development is directly implied & expected, else the game itself would wither as individuals & eve communities would move on to something else ....with the same expectations for their money.)

3. Forget about the Singularity skill points..... you can't even offer up skill points, a nice ship, a blueprint , item or nothing in the regular server............WHERE IT MATTERS???? Nothing??? Actually kind of insulting, considering you are the ones asking for help.

4. No need to get on the bandwagon of "you should help because, it is for the betterment of the game" garbage for the exact reason stated in #1.

In the end, I am absolutely sure you will find enough "self-less" players for your test. Maybe the Singularity skill points will entice a whole flock of newbs to be the target test group. However I do believe my time would be far better spent mining some Veldspar in a rookie ship in null sec.

They will bring out the new structures one at a time and could end up being a year and a half project or longer, with the first structure coming before 2016, so for the next several months before they have a new structure to put on Singularity they are going to test several different things on the old structures for our feedback.

At the same time it keeps the current POS system looking good until their replaced.

Or they could put resources on projects that won't be scrapped in the near future and reallocate them towards their intended goal. That way we can have access to them sooner then later...

2m skill points on the test server can be quite useful, if you use the test server for testing things before trying them on TQ - it's a nice way to fill out skills you've never trained on the main server, but want to experiment with anyway.

If you're one of the 99% of players who never bother with Sisi, on the other hand, it's pretty much useless to you... but that's not CCP's fault.

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your post gave me cancer anyway.

Christ you people asking for more from CCP sound like a bunch of whiny 4 year olds. Mass tests are always conducted in this manner, the reward is always SP for the Singularity server only. Giving 2 mil SP on Tranquility for 30 minutes of dicking around is an incredibly stupid notion; the few who get into the test would get an unfair boost over everyone else and the rest of the server would be crying out for blood because they couldn't get the same.

If you need an incentive that makes it less obvious you're bad at this game you're in the wrong place. Mass tests are about helping the devs we support create a better game for the rest of us. Sod off to a different game. We don't need your kind.

Skill points for a test server as a reward, no thanks. Being new to the game something like this may have given me a reason to continue subscribing had the rewards been for tranquility, thus far i see no real reason to stick around though. With close to a year of sub time required to even really get started on a half enjoyable character and several years to reach any real level of skill and still have to be very focused in training to be moderately efficient, it just feels fruitless. With games like star citizen and Elite dangerous getting started i see no real sense in making such a long term financial investment just to get started. This game really is good, but there is no incentive for a new player to stay. Wish Id taken an interest in this when it was still relatively new., but that ship sailed along time ago. People can reply to this with sarcasm and inform me this is not the place for this post fine, but there is a strong trend of new players bailing after just a few months and for good reason. Now you can all feel superior and tell me how my kind isnt welcome here, pat youreselves on the back a bit maybe, youre hero cookies just came out of the oven, still hot so be careful.
