An amazing trojan suggestion

Context - break it down by players losing a ship to NPCs, consensual PVP, non-consensual PVP, etc. and the "facts" may show something different (maybe). Ultimately what I posted before is anecdotal but its certainly been my experience with those players who are new to the game and getting suicide ganked early on tends to discourage them from sticking with the game more than it "inspired" them to get more into the game (as before I don't think having high sec as super safe is the answer either).

Getting ganked is exactly why I stuck around. For revenge. Which I got. Then I took over a whole low sec constellation with some friends, was a small part of some other big stuff in and around Khanid, and have had a lot of fun in the last three years. If just getting ganked is enough to discourage someone from sticking around, then they weren't cut out for the nitty-gritty of EVE anyway, so it's no real loss.

so my first thought when I read this thread was that if carriers are truly worthless now, the prices must have tanked. Surely people must be giving them away or maybe even paying you to take them off their hands.

Huh. Not really the case. I guess OP is full of it.

Okay, that's a lie. My first thought was that OP is full of it. Then I checked the markets.

Them markets: they don't lie.

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon

Depends a bit - getting ganked once is one thing - one of the people I'm talking about was ganked multiple times before they'd even had enough time in game to figure out how to deal with it or familiar enough with the game to see past it.

Carriers aren't worthless now - far from it - full on fighter roles (completely ignoring skynet) are a niche by far even by carrier use standards - but its a fairly long road to get to (100s of days of training just for the core skills necessary) - bare in mind that most people who are skilled up for a full 15 fighter setup would have had to have started training towards that goal long before CCP made the changes that made skynet a thing (so wouldn't have been doing it with the intention of doing skynet). Now 9/10th of their (fighter) functionality and potential use has been removed with a casual wave of the hand - for anyone who'd actually trained towards their use with a goal in mind thats a pretty bitter ending.

CCP cares about what will keep money rolling in. Their bottom line is what determines how the game is designed. Thank your peers for the changes.

This is the same CCP that had monocle gate and removed clones to make things easier for cry babies.

Don't kid yourselves. Even the dirtiest pirates from the birth of EVE have been carebears. They use alts to bring them goods at cheap prices and safely, rather than live with consequences of their in game actions on their main, from concord to prices

Because there is no communication between people within CCP. Part of what draws people to EVE are massive fleet battles. Look at all the publicity B-R5RB gave the game. Even big news outlets that weren't dedicated to gaming were reporting on it like the BBC. Big fleet battles are what 90% of the trailers are about for crying out loud. The marketing team is making bank on these huge fleet fights and acknowledge that is what excites potential new players the most.

So why the hell is the dev team trying to implement mechanics that would reduce the likelihood of large battles from happening? Has marketing not told them about how much they rely on large battles to attract attention?

It's like everyone is in their own little corner at CCP when suddenly they realize an update is due and they have to slap everything together.

CCP doesn't hate us. They're just disconnected and disjointed.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

Because every Null player whines about the soul crushing lag, bugs, and CCP have to pour liquid nitrogen over the servers to stop them melting whenever one of those big fights occurs.
I.E. It's not fun for any of the parties involved to have half of EVE in one system.

Hopefully the new design makes for some big fights still, but spread out over a Constellation, with actual tactics as well as some mighty clashes. It's not like there won't be timers still, just no soul crushing structure grinds anymore. And timers are what bring those fleets together.

If CCP hates this game so much, why not just close it? They're taking out so much which people worked for for all these years.

EVE is dying
If you say it enough times, it is true maybe?

The level of paranoid in this game is pure poison. The level of set back when you don't play it smart and be paranoid is just as poisonous.

You seem a bit uptight, in a desperate search to find some flaw in things I say. So desperate that you are reduced to citing And and or in sentence structure. Your advice is yours to give and maybe yours to take.
