Since the last patch, i have been getting 5-10 socket closures a day

i run multiple clients, 2-3 at times.

My wife does the same.


Throughout the day we get socket closures on 1-2 of our accounts, and it is completely random.
Why was this never a problem before, and now with this new patch it happens very frequently.
What was changed in this last patch server side to affect so many people getting socket closures, and i know im not the only one, and it isnt region specific considering i have friends experiencing the same problems in Canada, East Coast of NA, Hawaii, Australia and Russia.



CCP, please let us know what is happening.

I have run into this as well. Anytime I run more than one account, I get this same issue. I had to actually cancel my 4 accounts, due to not being able to stay connected longer than 40 mins.

I posted this in a locked thread so I will repost it :

Getting "socket closed" several times per day for weeks now. Sometimes drop 2-3 accounts, sometimes all ( I usually have10 accounts online ). After getting disconnected, I usually cannot access eveonline.com right away and the launcher goes offline, I have to restart it. Any other web sites are working just fine, teamspeak working as well during disconnects.

It's annoying as hell.

When ~11k players get disconnected for 30 min and no way to log back in, my wild guess it's not their ISP. But CCP says is not their fault either. Must be Chuck Norris then.

As an update;


It socket closes when it is just my wife playing, while im at work. it doesnt matter whos online, or how many accounts.


Again, this only happened after CCP switched to this Direct Download launcher they were so happy about.


if there is a way to opt out of this new feature, that would be a great way to troubleshoot.

You aren't the only one...

I only run one client, and I can never stay connected for more than 10-15 minutes before I get the closed socket error. This never happened before the new patch to me, and for as far back as I can remember playing, this is the first time it's ever happened to me. TIme of day doesn't matter, location doesn't matter...always happens.

Whats even weirder is that any, and I mean ANY, other online applications I run or use are still perfectly fine.

ArcheAge: Fine

EVE: Not fine.

Got an update for everyone, i have tested it for a day and a half on both mine, and my wife's computer.



Run eve as Administrator. It has not socket closed ONCE.

I also expirience "Connection Lost" every 10-60 Minutes for like 2 days now. Don't know what is actually different now. But it questions playing EVE.
