One thing that has always bugged me about the star-map is how little information it shows, considering EvE is set in the far future it seems odd the map is less functional than a contemporary GPS system.

A big example is the lack of information allowed in the "star colour" settings, you can only choose one data to be displayed of a wide variety available , for instance you can show the star colour due to sec status/my assets/ship/pod kills, but you can only choose ONE of these categories at once.

Quite often I would to see sec status plus any number of other metrics, such as where my assets are, at the same time. At the moment you need to keep flipping between setting the stars to display sec, and assets, and re-referring to the map every few minutes. It would be awesome if I could show where my assets are AND the sec status at the same time, especially when running trading or asset gathering journeys.

This could be achieved easily by allowing multiple data selections to show either as a kind of pie chart around the star or a number of rings around the star, each corresponding to a data category picked from the star colour menu. I'm not asking for the possiblity of showing all the possible data selections, even 4 or 5 data selections would vastly improve the usefulness of the star colour display.

It is funny, that I tend to use dotlan map much more often, than in game map, cause it is more simple and clear.
