I understand that if CCP detects an attempt to hack my account they lock my account for my protection. what I don't understand is then banning the account and taking up to months to resolve the issue?

if you the victim of someone trying to hack your account, I don't understand why CCP has to victimize you again by ignoring attempts to regain control of your own account.

Kind of like the police raping a **** victim. it just dosent make any sence to me. please someone explain this to me

Took about a day to get access back to one of my compromised accounts...

Unsure what's going on with yours.

Been around since the beginning.

It could just be that they are making sure that you weren't trying to hack the account yourself. It could even take to more months. I'm sure that you'll be happy in the end. I hope this makes sence.

that makes no sence, the account has be logged in to the website account management multiple times correctly. Nothing about CCP's refusl to even acknowlage this problem makes sence

Okay first you said months, now your saying 3 days. Which is it. Your story is already losing a bit of ground here.

Destiny always seems decades away, but suddenly it's not decades away; it's right now. But maybe destiny is always right now, right here, right this very instant, maybe.

You're unlikely to see any results over the next 4 days, CCP will be running minimal staff over easter.

With regards to 3 days for an account hacking petition then it depends on the workload they have and whether or not they're satisfied as to you being the legitimate owner of the account, they have a fair bit to check to verify that.

I know I'd rather they be thorough if it was my account that had been hacked.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

it has been 3 days since the account in question was banned, but when I looked up the problem in the forums and online I read where others have had the same problem and CCP has taken up to 3 months on the issue and it still was not resolved.

I understand that, I even understand having to change the password for the account witch was done by the way, but Banning the account seams harsh

Best of luck to you pilot. I can tell you from first hand experience the outcome can indeed take many weeks and you may in fact be very unhappy with the outcome.

It's sad really at Fanfest they announce two factor authentication is coming and I was like Yay, just you are 6 years too late is all.

There's a crappy game called Entropia that had a free security card and reader they gave out to account holders years ago that if Eve had would have prevented many unauthorized account access issues.

One thing is abundantly clear when it comes to CCP though convincing them they are wrong or there may indeed be a better way to do anything at all is just about impossible.

The account gets banned so that it can't be used by the offending party. You should be thankful that CCP is doing something to get you your account back with at least some chance of having all of your assets and ISK intact.

^This^

Also make sure your giving accurate information. If you keep giving them hazy info then they will just continue to wait until you prove who you are.

Its seems the ball is in your court.

Look who's back! Yeah. Giving your password and account name to "friends" or even "brothers" then claiming you were hacked is a common practice among the younger internet users. One reason they say they were "hacked"? They want all their stuff back without looking stupid. What they fail to realize is, because they are the younger internet users, being cool with all their cool talk and off-handed dismissiveness, they already look stupid. They need no help in that arena. Discuss?

The right to free speech doesn't automatically carry with it the right to be taken seriously.

Discussion of direct bans in a 3rd party environment is a direct violation of the eula

I too have had an account compromised. It took less than a week to get it returned, with 1 email between me and CCP. They wanted details of the account that I could verify via external means.

What it boils down to is that CCP doesn't know if you are lying or not. They have to follow the trail and see where it leads. The more convoluted the trail, the longer it takes.

From my experience, they will get it sorted and it won't be near as long as you might think. And way faster than any other game companies I've had to wait for eight months with to get these types of things sorted.
