Hi,

in July the Gallente T3 destroyer is supposed to be released, the Hecate.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

SOOOOOO

SOOOOOO

looking forward to that! My favorite ship has been the Catalyst for a long time and I want to test and fly the hell out of the Hecate, the bonuses presented so far at Fanfest look really promising (hulltank anyone?).

So I wish, CCP would seed the T3 destoryer skillbook before the actual ship release so I can train it to lvl 5 and can squeeze the best performance out of that beauty, once it is available.

Also, my birthday is in July and, even though the Hecate will be an awesome present as it is, please CCP...

Do me that little favor :D

I'm down with that.

It's not game breaking by any means and some might even think it fair since we are the last to get one of these T3 Dessies.

First I wanted to make fun of you,
but then I realised that your childish behaviour is actually better
than all the robotic hate of so many others.

Thanks, it's nice to read even though it's kind of silly.

I would never be that silly.

You owe me a cup of hot cacao and a cookie.
And I want you to read me a book before I go to sleep!!!!!!!!!

Why (aside from "I want")?

Realistically, you won't be flying it for a month anyways while prices are in the several hundred million isk range (as has been the case for the other two T3Ds

No because the gallente federation can't provide you with a training manual for a ship until it's design is actually completed.

Well, aside from "I really really really want to!", the prices for the other T3s settled down after at most a week. Destroyers really don´t take a long time to build and the BPCs are not dropped from any new sites, the general WH population will be seeding them from minute 0 on, pretty much.

Of course.

If it wasn't for 'I want' MMOs would not have many subscribers. Making people want things is what keeps them afloat.

There's no shame in wanting something just because you want it (in the context of a game). It gives us a goal. A purpose to keep logging in. Salvaging wrecks. Hacking and analyzing. Thieving from our corps.

Pretty much everything we do in this game boils down to 'I want'.

No, because *reasons*.

You want to step into the ship, with the skill already at V.

While that is an admirable goal, it is unrealistic even within the EVE universe. You cannot know how to pilot something that hasn't even been fully designed yet. And it isn't fully designed until the blueprints are released.

We'll (yes, I am also really looking forward to the Hecate to add to the Svipuls already in my T3D hangar) just have to deal with having only Level III in the skill at the end of Day 1. I know, such a bummer...

When I finally do make an impact on this universe, it will reverberate across the entirety of it, and no one will be able to truthfully claim they don't know me. - -

Until then, I'll just sit quietly over here, minding my own business...

At the far end of town
where the Grickle-grass grows
and the wind smells slow-and-sour when it blows
and no birds ever sing excepting old crows...
is the Street of the Lifted Solecist.

And deep in the Grickle-grass, some people say,
if you look deep enough you can still see, today,
where the Solecist once stood
just as long as she could
before somebody lifted the Solecist away.

What was the Solecist?
And why was she there?
And why was she lifted and taken somewhere
from the far end of town where the Grickle-grass grows?

The old Epeen still lives here.
Ask him.
He knows.

I am sure there are Caldari pilots that would like to be able to buy their skillbook earlier. The average Caldari pilot just isn´t able to properly write down their thoughts and wishes Twisted

It's not though, because none of the other three got/are getting early releases of their skills.
And Gallente being released last is fair, since it's due to the outcome of a fair player competition.

For some reason I like the idea of releasing a skill before a ship.

It's not a massive change, but someone who is invested could gain a few days advantage.

I quite like it as a dynamic. It's going to balance pretty quickly.

Tactical Destroyers can be flown with Level I of their respective skill, that´s some 17 minutes of training.
Further levels seem only to affect combat performance.

So, no.
