additional uses for rorqual production lines. (mobile ammo annyone?)

So, forgive me if this has been up before, but the 'frequently posted ideas' list seems to have gone AWOL.

I think the Rorqual is seriously missing out on possibilities for its unique feature: the only ship with industrial slots.
It'd be interesting if it could also, say, manufacture T1 ammo or refine/reprocess (obviously both would have lower efficiency ratings than POS or station based services).

It could be just another feature of it's industrial core, or could require other modules.

Anyway, thoughts?

I have a feeling the code guys cringe like crazy whenever someone mentions mobile production lines, especially when it's dependent on a player ship that may run out of fuel, explode, or disconnect at any time.

I personally have no use for such a ship. The number of cases where I would feel comfortable leaving a Rorqual in siege for hours or days at a time, but don't have access to a POS or station where I can produce are so far : 0.

I really don't see a use for a 2.5 Bil isk ammo dispenser.

Shattered wormholes, perhaps?

You feel like leaving a multi billion isk ship sieged in space without a defensive POS forcefield to make a few thousand isk worth of ammo?

Instead of just hauling it in with a hauler?

Purely intended as playing with the concept rather than necessarily a suggestion to be implemented - the only way it would really be worth it IMO is if deployed mode allowed you to produce something (very) quick when you don't care so much about cost (having industrial core fuel costs prevent people just using them in their dozens to make stuff quick for market) and then a much slower passive (non-deployed) production mode that works even logged off but slower than a POS or station.

First thing the Rorqual needs is getting rid of deployed mode for all it's abilities.
If it has a deployed mode it should be for bonuses, not required to do it's basic functions.
