I'm now officially a bittervet, since I got discomfort from reading this.

I mean, those two remaps would really help me out, but now I'm stuck training things I'm not really going to use for the next 7 months or so. I knew this day would come, the day where I'm still new enough to the game that changes aimed towards new players would be very good for me, yet I'd have played for long enough that I'd be exempt from receiving these benefits. Tisk tisk.

but actually really good crowd control?


Everyone receives a free remap ... FOR FREE! ;)



Personally I'd totally be against this, because we shouldn't acknowledge whining with a present ...
... but that's just my personal opinion. It'd be a good way to control the crowd.

I'm betting they also get an achievement / opportunity / tutorial asking them to remap a couple times, thereby consuming some of those remaps.

People are mostly mad that older characters aren't being given the two extra remaps. Tbh, I don't really see why CCP couldn't have done it. I'm not mad though.

Should've just removed attributes entirely. They add literally nothing to the game except for an unneeded level of complexity to make the game seem hard.

I've made over 40 characters. Lots of them since remaps have become available. I have maybe used a bonus map on two of those.

That said, I see no issue with this. Some people will still manage to burn through all 5 in a month and then come here crying for more.

Two extra remaps won't change stupid, so I see it having little effect on the game, overall.

Training stuff you don't need just because you want to maximise sp/hr is daft. The game is there to be enjoyed, train whatever will allow you to enjoy the game. Who cares if you gain sp at a slightly slower rate because of it.

The OP is the worst kind of whining. I'd get rid of attributes altogether, but if CCP doesn't want to do that and calculates that givng new players extra remaps will improve player retention, then I'm all for it.

Maximising SP/hour also does bring enjoyment of a different kind. I care if I gain SP slower, as a lot of other people do. It's just annoying because I'd be hitting my desired goals somewhere around third quarter 2016 instead of by the end of 2015.

I mean the very fact that they're giving out two extra remaps to new players means that people do benefit from those early on in their career.
