Ship advice. Gurista null sec ratting.

Hi everyone!


Now I am a null sec dweller and I need to earn some iskies, as simple as that. After several tries to find an optimal ship for ratting I failed as my ships were too slow or too squishy.

So I would be glad if anyone could help me and suggest a better ship for ratting the belts and maybe low-grade anomalies in gurista null-sec space.


Current situation:

- Not so expensive, 320m ISK as a maximum

- I got 22m SP, mainly small scale ships as frigates (all the T2 variants), T2 med. projectiles, able to fly a loki, BSs without T2 guns, all the core tanking, capacitor etc. skills

- no skills for piloting an Ishtar

- Medium drone skills (T2 sentries)

-preferably easy-to-pilot

And if it is possible, I would be glad to know how much DPS and EHP is required to comfortably grind the NPCs in null sec belts. Thanks again.

you are in CFC .... get on goons forums and check the threads there there is a section for this stuff .
edit : all youre questions are answered + you get told how to make money to afford ratting .

But anyway "Vexor Gila Ishtar"

you could belt rat in a stabber.....or any t1 cruiser. as for the null anoms, a vaga could be fun to try them in. but really after a day or two belt ratting you could realisticly afford a high dps bs, just bring a buddy for some logi and you could do havens all day.

all that said, best bang for your buck will be a vexor and all of its variants, or a gila.

edit: suggested minnie first since you mentioned t2 projectiles, but really other racial ships do it better. that doesnt neccesarily mean you have to. ive been known to rat and plex in a pvp fit scythe fleet issue. just depends how you like to play

Just out of interest mate, do you make this money just from the bounties? How much can you make from null-sec ratting? I might have to get on it! :)

my experience is this, the bounties are a lot of it. but i loot the the wrecks and reprocess for ammo(i move a rat specific ammo bpo into null-sec with me), and sell the high meta items.

then you have faction spawns, and this is subject to scrutiny but i would hit roughly 2 every time i would rat and depending on the space this loot is worth in some cases 100+ million. also i recently had a run through geminate and hit a few systems where there were 10+ anoms which make the possibility for faction spawns and escalations more likely. <-this is where the big isk is, in the form of faction deadspace loot. just be careful moving the loot out.

edit: im reluctant to put a monetary value on this as i dont know your playstyle or level of commitment, as mine can can very aggressive one day and very lax the next.

For Gurista ratting, drone boats are the norm as they don't care about the ECM jams that will be coming your way.
