stupid error message

I've been getting an error message updating the client. Unfortunately, I cannot post it because this stupid forum 'won't allow HTML' even though its the error message I've been given. I've tried running it in safe mode, admin mode, from the /bin directory and the repair tool. Nothing is working and I'm getting the same error message over and over. Here's the top part of the message without any code that looks like HTML. And yes, I have checked to see if exefile.exe is being run by another process but it isn't.

Figured out what the problem was. Steam was somehow using the same files so exiting Steam allowed me to update properly.
