I haven't been able to get the new patch to start. I tried various fixes, nothing happened. All I get is the installation bar, then the client closes. When it next opens, the bottom of the bar is going crazy, flicking constant between downloading & installing, but not 'actually' doing anything.

I tried uninstalling but keeping my settings, same thing. Tried uninstalling everything and rebooting, still the same problem. Can't find a fix for this anywhere.

Even tried the repair tool which just comes up with an error indicating that it can't fix anything. So as it stands, I have no access to the game whatsoever and can't even get the client to start doing something.

I tryed the repair tool, it says completed/finished but it only did 2 out of the 7 things the repair tool do. but it still says complete.

And eve is not working.

I had the same problem.
Just go to your installation folder (which in my case is C:\Program Failes (x86)\CCP\) and run Eve.exe as Administrator (right click, choose "Run as Administrator). Worked like a charm for me.

I've now got the client to install but it only actually installed 278MB of data from a clean install... Safe to say, this is not sufficient for a full MMO. Not even a fraction.

All I am getting in-game is constant 'Resource Loading' but no indication that there is any data actually downloading.

Yeah, I was having the exact same problems but doing what Che Galtor suggested sorted it.

I think I might have fixed this now. I had to go into the settings and switch on 'download all resources' (because for some ridiculous reason, this is not automatically selected...).

Rebooting the client, the game re-installed the initial 284mb patch and is now downloading 7.65gb which sounds more like it.

May be worth checking your settings to make sure everything is switched on/checked.

second patch in a row that destroys my launcher.

same error as the OP. repair didn't work.

edit: launcher still has the downloading launcher update/installing update flicker problem (same as OP) but exefile.exe works for logging in after the repair.exe.
