I wonder how the Society of Conscious Thought fits into this.

Sisters of Eve are, if I remember my epic arc correctly, very interested in SoCT.

Sisters are in Thera, for unknown reason.

SoCT are supposedly Jovians.

SoCT has sov in Geminate.

Has anyone noticed anything there, in SoCT space?

Is it not possible that, having the tech to harvest and reinvest bodies, the Drifters or whoever also have the tech to perma-kill capsuleers ? We would only know when someone could be proved to have been in a battle and not to have been restored to their clone.

I've read a couple of things, but i really can't see through all this Lore.

So what i know is that Jovians are :
-technologically advanced, and are quiet elusive.
- suffering from a genetic desease

When the desease started multiple things were attempted to cure it, and one of those is that some of the Jovians took the path of W-space to find a cure in there. --> called Sleepers.

So it's not that surprising if we see Jovian structure as "supposedly" Sleeper structures. (unidentified structure)

And therefore what the video tends me to think is that sleepers found a way to reanimate dead bodies and made them the actual Drifter pilots.

But what i can't understand is where the hell are ACTUAL sleepers ?
We only saw their drones at this point, and drifter pilots seems to be "zombies".

Did they managed to upload their minds in somesort of gigantic super-computer from which they control their drones and control the re-animated corpses ?
Or are they downloading their mind in the body they collect as the repair them ?

Or am i completly missing something ?

Or am i just wasting my time with this Lore !! :(

From he FanFest stream just now -- the new story is going to be something which players will "enjoy".

As a carebear, and noting that over 95% off the player-base are PvP-centred (as noted from the Keynote presentation yesterday), this can only mean a major close-down of the non-PvP activity, so that all the carebears are made to grow Up. The question will be whether this will be the closure of hi-sec, or the simple expansion of null-sec rules throughout New Eden.

highly doubtful, since its been totally about the A.I = pve..

nobody can even try to look like a drifter, seeker, or fly their ships

the A.I is coming for us.. that's pve

in eve its basically advanced pve.

use your pvp-skills to kill this new super A.I pve

could eventually be Super Cap level content.

closure of hi-sec would kill everything they're working on when it comes to getting new players and keeping them.

more than anything to me it looks like the threat is all over new eden, no one is safe from these things, and even wormhole space seems to be even more dangerous just due to fact that the "super mothership/structure" is there or somewhere lurking..

its coming..
prepare to meet your maker.

Soooo can we get to "reroll" our character as a Drifter clone when we are killed and harvested by the Drifters/Others? Do it CCP Idea

You know capsuleer perma dies and is "reborn" into a new faction associated with the new entities. Maybe even be at war with the empires since he we won't be human anymore but instead controlled by the Others.

New Skill : "Tin foil hat construction" Reduces chance of being harvested by drifters by 20% per skill level.

I am looking at this from another angle (for a moment).

Jovians granted the gift of the pod and we pilots were fortunate enough to survive the process to use them. Since we abuse them freely without really thinking about the pod, what if the Jovians were using us as a long term experiment? Perhaps over time, while we are mentally strong, what if the Jovians were subtly using our genetic materials to recreate themselves? Instead of me being a Caldarian, I have slowly become a Jovian-Caldarian mixture?

The original poster has excellent ideas about the deep rooted lore. Perhaps the Jovians realized the Other (and its ~army~) have gotten too powerful and thus attempted to contain them through shutting down the various star gates. Perhaps the two sides waged a quick but powerful war that created Caroline's Star and the shattered planets as casualties. But instead of winning, the Jovians finally lost and the Other is free.

And so we pod pilots might continue the epic war against them, not as a pure pod pilot, but perhaps as a partial Jovian.

Just a thought.

WATCH THIS NOW

(will write up details soon)

-Uriel

Also, look at this shot- the Tyrannos are not coming from the Sleeper construct.

Okay, I'm back and this time with details.............

Quote:
So, in short:

- The Drifters are the Others
- They need bodies and biomass to create bodies to use
- Sleepers, Jovians, and capsuleers alike are being taken to make bodies
- Tyrannos/Drifters are the Other's army, after his first attemp failed.

Quote:
Theoryrcrafting portion:

- The Tyrannos are the Tyrants
- The Others are the members, having hidden their minds in the Sleeper construct at the fall of the Second Empire
- The Other in Jamyl is the head of the Tyrants- tinfoil here, but it could be Miko Bour.

Anyhow, enjoy!
I know I am- this is amazing!

OKay this is my working take on things. I agree with everything you said but adding to it.

1. Sansha is also working for, controlled by, or is manipulated by an 'Other' He may or may not have direct contact with Drifter/Others, but I am assuming he is working in tandem with the Drifters.
2. Sansha used WH generating tech to invade Jove space/W-space to aid 'Others' with their goal of uniting the empire. The Jove have resisted their attempts to gain the upper hand, so the "Others' A.K.A 'Drifters" A.K.A.
Tyrants say we can't get the Jove to submit so time to clean the slate. Sansha is sent to invade and annihilate the Jove.
(Alternatively, its possible as stated in the film that the Sleepers bodies are all failing them and they need new bodies, and/or want to leave their construct.)
(Alternatively, the Sleepers were resisting the Others and with them all dead the Others are freed to do as they wish.)
3. Capsuleers are also given motives to ignorantly aid in this endeavor, the sleeper tech gathering competition so many happily assisted sponsored by the empires. This gave Sansha coordinates needed and/or destroyed countless Sleepers.
5. The few Jove left outside the construct are unable to mount a powerful enough defense to prevent Sansha from getting to the tech/object and he the eventually destroys Caroline's Star. He detonates the devices and the majority or all remaining Jove are wiped out. This maybe with the exception of those living in the far Northern constellations, whom think they were successful at great cost in repelling him.
This "pulse" from the star being composed by some form of super-luminal energy or matter, additionally damages the cloaking devices on the structures around New Eden hidden by the 3rd Empire Jove.
(Alternatively, the ancient coordinates recovered by capsuleers told the Sleepers were to look for the Observatories.)
It could've also killed any Jove physically connected to the Construct. Kind of like having your plug pulled while being "Jacked" into the Matrix.
At the same time the Sleeper behavior is modified as the drones are controlled by the 'Others' to harvest Jove bodies.
6. The Sleeper drones now controlled by the Others gather Jove bodies and start making hybrid Jove for them to take physical form in and are successful.
7. Drifters/Others now return to Empire space and are now forced to deal with their next issue. The heavily corrupted Jove DNA and an unruly bunch of capsuleers. So why not start harvesting them for DNA/new army (end of trailer).

That's my working theory. There's another point or two that needs mentioning though after seeing the contents of the cinematic.
1. The Jovian stargate shown was clearly most similar in construction to the historical Jovian vessels we are use to seeing from the first decade of Eve. They are built similarly to ships of the 3rd Empire.
2. The Drifter BS hanger bay and the massive structure its located in (around 1:00 minute in) is designed or shows characteristics of architecture similar to the Observation Towers and is likely older tech, 2nd Empire.
3. Jove bodies from the Construct are mostly Organic (1:10) and are harvested then "Borged" into Drifters.
4. CCP carefully picked which quotes to use in this film. I think we may want to take them as literally as possibly.

Apparently they want to take the Marvel route and just make **** up as they go without accepting consequence. A New Eden 'multiverse' if u will.

This way there really isn't lore.. just stuff that sounds cool with tons of loopholes and empty spaces.

If the Drifters are collecting and using bodies, does that mean one of the modules we'll be able to get from them is going to be the ability to Salvage player Corpses for Implants?

We get like a creepy, Drifter-faction line of ships that just get bonuses to corpse harvesting, haha.

Well I can provide info here- and like Elyia said, Templar One has answers :)

The Construct is the Sleeper VR world- they live connected to it thought the sleeper hubs we see in sites in Anoikis. It's almost literally a paradise- or it was, until the Others appeared (also covered in T1!).

Although i'm not disbelieve your tellings, i would like to have a look at official lore. :)

Also, i was not mistaking in my little thoughts then.

The "Construct" is the 'cure' they found by digitally transcend their illed bodies ?
Like a super-computer in which they upload their minds.

And what the video shows, is wether
-they found a way to re-animate bodies to control them just like drones/pupets
- or they found a way to "get out of Construct" and re-download their mind in repaired bodies.

but wtf are Tyrannos in this whole story ?
Were they the first "subject" of this new technology they now excel in (capture body and re-animate them) ?
Or are they aside with the sleepers for some awkward purpose ?

Thanks anyway, i'll read Templar One then :)

Fewer systems - herd capsuleers.

Once the capsuleer density is high and well distributed, bring the Mother Space Meat Mincer for an all out body good good time ala Reapers.

Shoot capsuleers

No honey, we are not immortal. Like the Cylons we have the technology for resurrection hubs aka clone facilites, so you wake up in a new clones body everytime someone ganks your escape pod.

As for the Jovean lore, let's make a mind-experient what 'The Decease' actually is.

If you take a piece of paper which has something printed on it and put it in a copymachine you will get a copy of that paper but if you take the fresh new copy into the copymachine your copy is a little less accurate and if you take the copy of the copy you can see the deterioration already.

Now apply that to chromosones and DNA. With each copy of ourselves there will be slight deterioration of the chromosones and our DNA.
We are lucky that our clones are made from the original material but our 'original' will deteriorate over time since tissue can only be stored for so long before cell-suicide begins.

But let's further imagine that we found a way to prolong the mechanisms for cell-rejuvination and cell-reduplication and the Joveans who have watched over us took a leap of faith and gave us the clone technology in hopes that we would find a cure for them.

Maybe one of them thought that their own genius has stopped them to come up with it on their own and thought that we lesser developed species with our primitive technology would find what they were looking for for so long?

@ all of you, on the Jovians giving us the pod:

We still have no idea why they gave it to us (well, Ishukone), but it was definitely for their benefit. I've always thought, personally, that they're using them not only for information gathering, but for a deep analysis of us. If they lost something in the Shrouded Days, perhaps they wanted to use us to help find that loss P

I believe it is only a temporal solution for a prolonged time of stasis.

If you think about it for a little, it is quite interesting. Imagine they found a way to put themselves into a stasis chamber and can exist within that chamber for eons to come but being semi-conscious they would need something to occupy their minds or they would go cookoo over time.

So they created this 'world' to interact with each other to pass time, well not as we understand because the scales would be a bit different.
But even in this world they would have a way to interact with the outside worlds and 'overwatch' who rises and who fails.

On this:

The Sleepers/Architects were always obsessed with creating their own perfect world- and they succeeded. They live out their entire existence in the VR Construct for the most part, and have it much better in there than it is out here. It's basically a paradise- but it's being destroyed (as described in T1) by the "Others".

In addition, they achived time dilation in the construct during the second Jovian Empire, allowing them to make technological advances leaps and bounds beyond the rest of the Jovians at the time. The Enheduanni, in addition to all of their doings, also serve to help Architects exit/enter the construct smoothly.
