I'd pay you cash for EMMA2.
I would not pay you a monthly fee for a web based service.

1: Web based means hacking and dos. I'd rather not thank you.

2: Monthly subscription means leashed. I'd rather not thank you.

3: You have, historically, gotten easily bored of your projects and abandon them.
I'd not thank you.

As to how much: I'd easily pay you $20-30(US) for EMMA2. You do good programming and you're design reflects your understanding of the Eve Player's needs in this regard.

Fair points. Tbh, I'm not sure about doing the web thing at all. It's better for the casual user, but the casual user dosn't want to pay.. Plus it would be pretty expensive for me to actually run it.

It's all designed in such a way that I can have both an MVC3 (web) and WPF (windows) front end so I don't have to decide for sure right now.
I'll have to see what the situation is when I'm in a position to release it.

On the subject of me getting bored, I mostly got bored of Emma because I got bored of eve. There was nothing else in it for me at that point. However, if I was getting monthly income from it, that would be a pretty big incentive to keep developing it and would keep my interest.

And that is why I would not pay a monthly subscription for it.

Either you do this app for the pleasure of doing it... and you get remunerated from those who use it out of need or appreciation or just don't do it. Having to wonder from month to month if we are incentivizing you enough to continue providing the service is just plain stupid. I know the software industry is trying to go to "rental" programs to further soak the market but it just won't work.

When it comes to software:

Either I own my copy and it works or
I don't own my copy and that just won't work.

Essentially, web based or monthly subscription are restrictions upon me that I would not accept. It would make you, after a fashion, my overlord. I try to limit the number of overlords in my life.

PS: Mind you, I do in fact own my copy of Eve!
Bought it on the shelf in a box when it came out.

Not without breaking the terms of the EULA though.
