hello, ive been trying to play this game many times, doing fw and missions but its nowhere as exciting as people and trailers claim it to be.

they say i need to find a good corp to have a purpose in this game and stay for longer, so im looking for one to help me get into this game, do something actually interesting and entertaining, instead of just fighting rats over and over.

just created this trial today, hope ill enjoy it this time

EU btw if it matters

Yup it's all about the people, 90% of the game is about how player interact with each other.

Look at the "This is EVE" trailer, it's ALL players being players with each other :P

Maybe try Brave Newbies

Here is a wealth of information on finding a good corp. Don't be afraid to get out there and try some. Everyone's tastes are different. You might not find the perfect group on the first try.

There are plenty of helpful people in this game that would be more than happy to help you find your place. However this is not a game with a linear progression towards some specific end game. You have to find your own way in this game. Other's can help you figure that out but no one can do it for you.

In this sandbox at some point you will have to realize that you need a certain amount of self motivation. Yes you will usually be doing things with other people but sometimes you need to be the one doing the doing and even when tagging along with others you have to find the others and the events and get yourself prepared.

None of what I have mentioned is all the difficult. It's just that with so many other games out there with queueable content I think it is somewhat important that you have realistic expectations. In this game you will sometimes be looking for things to do. Not that there is nothing to do, there is plenty to do it's just that you need to go out and do it. Not sit in a hanger and open a queue UI and click a button then wait your turn.

This game is interactive and an MMO not a solo game that you play with other people.

*waves fist at Cara* Yet again you outpost me with the link. Then again, I had a great time in the bar with friends :P*

OP: Yes, EVE is a player vs player game, the entire game in the end revolves around player to player interaction. Be it direct or indirect, be it with ship vs ship combat or being smart and outclass your opponent on the market. Or just by making friends and having a good time (and eventually make some "enemies" that you "hate" - of course, all of this is in game *Personally, even the ones I don't like, if we would meet on one of the EVE-meets, I would be more then happy to have a drink with them and share experiences*)

So, yeah, being in a corp that suits you (and THAT is also why we can't tell you which corp you should join, my corp doesn't have to suit you. Xerco's corp might not suit me and I might even hate Cara's corp...Oh wait, skip that last bit) but that is not a MUST. You can also make friends that are not in your corp or what so ever, there are many ways to make friends, be active in the community or do stuff together (Nice examples: NPSI fleets (basically, PvP fleets that anybody with or without a pulse can join, no matter who they are and what corp they are in, and together you go out and shoot anything that moves that isn't in fleet. Another nice example are the public Incursion communities, they have a shared chat channel where people can find others to form a fleet and run Incursion sites).

So, my suggestion, go out and interact with your fellow capsuleers. You will make enemies, you will encounter jerks, but you will also make friends and find likeminded persons. Hell, EVE is known for making long lasting RL friendships or even marriages (Yes, I know a couple that "meet" through EVE and are now married).

A few things for you to keep in mind:

- If you are going to join a corp, be upfront on how much time you will play the game. Better for you and them to know your time commitment

- Whether you join a corp or not it takes a long time to train into the best ships. Isk seems like it limits you at first - but really it's the training time that limits you.

SP limits the tools available to you, not what you can do with those you have already.

Grrr.
