[Propose] Smartbomb range & damage equalization mid-slot module

I have the following idea: A midslot module that redistribute the ship energy output > which equalizes the smart-bomb ranges and damages to the highest that is fitted > if their are multiple fitted. (*with a no-capital fit restriction)

Example: ((1 T2 em sb + 1 chelm sb) + equalization module) = 2 Chelm sb's

Why:

* T1 and T2 ship buffs > damage-nerfed sb's
* Unequal ranges/damages between meta's > breaks tactical gameplay
* Drones blob counter > Rock paper scissor vs massive fleeting drones use > Introducting a viable suicide drones-blob counter
* Create content > dangerous nature of eve > Destroys ISK > Good for $$

No.

If you want 2 identical smartbombs, then fit two identical smartbombs.

Also, **** no on fitting 2 officer anythings without buying the mods.

I would like to fit 2 different types of damage smartbombes with the exact same range. With the current sb's that isn't possible! (other than t2's)

Also; Spending 11b on a chelm for a rack of chelms seems worth the 11b Big smileShocked but 11*7= 77b imho a bit too much Pirate

Hmm interesting proposal.

You both make a good point. After reading both your arguments, i think the problem lies in the faction smartbombs. As Trin argued, the range is not uniform. The faction ones do give more damage/use options vs higher power output, but it gets restrained by the not uniform range. Idea

I will not be supporting this because just a quick look at the numbers shows how unbalanced and OP it would be:

Now if I've got this right in your example there is a large T2 smartbomb and a large Officer (Chelm) smartbomb which your module would effectively convert to two Officer smartbombs. The only disadvantage that would come from this equalisation would be an increased PG cost (+1150 PG on the T2) for a massive improvement. The T2 smartbomb would gain a lower activation cost (90GJ lower), increased Area of Effect (+4.5km) and an increased damage output (+225 dmg) for a fraction of the cost of an Officer mod.

Even if the module your propose averaged the two smartbombs out I think it would be to much.

if you want officer buy officer of you can't afford it looks like you need to go make some isk or settle for less

if you want a mod that would boost smartbomb dmg or range it should be for low slot like mods for every other weapon types, other than this its not a terrible idea
