Keep in mind this is with lvl 3 PI skills only...done with a planet in lowsec with about a 3km radius and 10% import tax

i create a 5x4 array like so (and put the HQ off to the side)

*key*
A=advanced processor
L=Launchpad
W=Warehouse

AAAAA
AALAA
AAWAA
AAAAA

I upgrade the link between Launchpad and Warehouse to 20kg/hr

I import Water and Electrolytes to the launchpad

I connect everything together in a grid

I send the Water and Electrolytes to the Processors to make Coolant

I send the coolant to the Warehouse

I expedite the Coolant to the Launchpad

I make 5.7m isk per day w/ 3 planets

Do the math, if you do, you could make 30m isk fully upgraded if you own your own customs offices per day

feel free to mail me your hate mail and criticize me =]

What if you used two launchpads - one to download input materials, the other to receive finished product and upload? Then you wouldn't have to bother with an expedited transfer.

A second launchpad costs more PWG and CPU than a warehouse so that is less processors you could have. An expedited transfer once or twice a day is just a few extra clicks so I don't think its worth it to bother with 2 launchpads.

I made this a while ago in order to play around with different setups:
PI Setup calculator

It is very basic but it got the job done.

Isnt coolant smaller than the raw materials anyway, so you could just use one pad.
I had similar setups year or two ago, 2 clusters of one pad with 9 factories iirc, so 2 pads 18 factories per planet.
Nice iskies but bit too repetitive hauling so now they are just gathering dust on the planets.

I have planets dedicated to producing and one dedicated to turning it all into the product.
