hey all

I enjoy watching the trailers of eve.
For now i use youtube to watch them, show them to some friends and such, however that kinda eats a lot of battery/data out of my bundle.
Does anyone know if there is a way to download them? does ccp host a site for that?
or are youtube to video sites/programs my best bad? ( only downside of those is the sh1tty quality)

anyways have a good day yha all

There's ways of downloading YouTube videos,
can't think of any off the top of my head but it's fairly straightforward if memory serves.

1) disable flash plugin for force youtube to use html5
2) open the net tab in firebug
3) find the actual video stream url (it keeps downloading)
3) RMB/Copy Location
4) open terminal and provide wget with the URL
5) wait for download to complete
6) rename file to something sensible (unless you provided a filename with -O)
7) enjoy what you should not have

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

  • Video DownloadHelper addon for Firefox and Chrome (limited to 720p maybe)
JDownloader 2 if you want standalone program (also downloads 60fps videos - for me that was the only way to re-watch 60fps "This is EVE" without Chrome)

Just download the HD versions from Youtube. Quality isn't bad.

Also, if you just went to Eve Online's homepage, there is a media link --> Videos
    http://www.eveonline.com/media/videos/
Which offers downloads of at least some videos.

You can download trailers from the eveonline website here:

    http://www.eveonline.com/media/videos/

.. though I just noticed that there seem to be a few missing. Ugh If you're after any that aren't there let me know and I'll make the original sources available someplace for you tomorrow!

    hey ccp prawn.

the "mature" version of "this is eve" would be really appreciated, is there also a possibility that you can include the scope news reports on that site in the future?:)

    thanks for your reply

Download and use the Torch browser. It comes with an inbuilt, single click media downloader (which includes youtube vids)

    Why, thank you, Thing!
