Well its finally time for me to take a trip through Null Sec. However I'd like to not trespass on Sovereign Space owned by corps. Which systems should I avoid?

Thank You for your time.

Your doing it wrong. Trespass is half the excitement of the trip Big smile

Honestly though, other than some of the Npc space that is attached to low sec or high sec gates, your probably going to have to trespass to reach any more than 5% of null sec space.

You should be robbing Sov space blind. That is clearly what CCP intended with the recent rounds of new modules and ships. You have siphon units, two mining frigates, and an exploration frigate that warps cloaked. Everything you need to sneak in, grab resources, and get out.
Remember that 'owning' space in Eve actually means nothing of the sort. We cannot control who comes into our space, we have no real method of broadcasting your presence other than in-game chat channels, we can't stop you from harvesting resources, and honestly- unless you get unlucky and run into a camp, chances are you will be ignored when passing thru.
It's no more dangerous to cross sov space than NPC null or low sec.

Yeah, most of Nullsec is player owned. There are a few NPC null regions (Great Wildlands, Outer Ring, Syndicate, Venal, Geminate, Curse, Delve......I think that's it?) but for the most part you're playing around in someone else's space. And the NPC null regions, by virtue of not being owned by anyone, attract a lot of attention and can be very busy, making exploring there a bit of a hassle.

For planning your trips, take a look at EveNews24's daily Sov maps:

http://evenews24.com/verite-renditions-sov-map/

And use Dotlan to plan your route:

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map

Shameless plug:

Thera would be an excellent way for someone to find easy exploration access to nullsec. The system always has two highsec connections, three lowsec connections, and three nullsec connections. The connections to Thera are kept up to date on the Eve Scout website (check the second link in my sig). If you want some help getting in or out, let me know with a mail or private convo.

Excellent. That's the information I was looking for.

Thera's end game for me. High-Low-Null-Wormhole-Thera. Learning the mechanics of the game at my ship loss comfort level.

I've actually been hanging out in your public "EvE-Scout" for a couple of weeks now. People have been helpful and understanding that It'll probably be a few months before I'm comfortable joining a player corp.

Trust me when I tell you: There is no "end game" space. Each area of space just has a different way of life. And you can lose your ship anywhere Blink

I'll hit you up in game.

Remember that some areas of null, such as Providence, are NRDS (Not Red Don't Shoot). This means that, unless you (or your corp or alliance) have done something to get listed as KOS (kill on sight) then you can operate there without being shot - at least by the locals. It gives you the chance to experience and explore what null sec is like in a slightly less fraught way.

You may decide that you like it and want to call it home. Or, if you want a lot of PvP experience very fast, you can start shooting at the locals. No standings loss, no CONCORD, no gate guns, and plenty of enthusiastic opponents.

If you go through sov space don't forget the cloak on your ship. It's best practice to hang out cloaked some time (lunch , dinner) in systems with many people in local and high ratting activity on the map to say hello.

I'm my own NPC alt.

Also, so they'll think you're AFK (which is correct) and they'll eventually stop camping the gate or checking d-scan or whatever, so you can kill them or escape depending on your preferences.

Also occasionally ask 'hey guys, what does this module do, I can't work out why it's on my ship' and link a Cynosural Field Generator.

NO, NO and NO

join a player corp NOW!!!.

(Ok , rage mode deactivated)

Joining a player corp is one of the most important aspects of the game. I would suggest joining a new player friendly corp. You looked like your interested in EvE-scout so you can apply and if it doesn't work out join BNI (my corp).

Eve is different from other games. In other games you like doing X you find other people who like X and you have fun together. In Eve, I've found, there's a huge barrier finding like minded people.

Before starting my active account I ran a throw-away trial to see if I could have fun in this controversial game called Eve. On the fun side I found the sandbox spurring lots of ideas. During the throw-away trial I applied/ interviewed with various different types of player corps. The process was exhausting. However, I realize that if I want to do "end game" stuff I'll have to eventually bite the bullet and put myself through the laborious process.

My play style is casual/ serious. I'm here to have fun first but I do have long term goals which will require focus. Typified by Brave's Fun per minute motto.

Just because I'm in a NPC corp doesn't mean I've been keeping to myself. I've interacted with the my NPC corp and learned a thing or two from the vets alts. I've interacted with small/new player corps and shared what I've learned from the forums. This really shocked me since I'm new but I've been able to give helpful advice to players who have been in the game longer then me. Some player corps wanted me to apply after hanging out in the public channels others have let me stay.

Eve is different from other games. It takes time to get use to the new paradigm. It takes time to learn the skills that lead to your goals. It will take time to find a player corp that compliments my play style.

Thanks, I was about to type a whole wall of text again about SOV and null-sec.

But luckily, somehow you have a database of useful posts to link.

@OP:

Don't give a flying **** about trespassing into someones systems, that attitude doesn't suit with 0.0 and also limits you out of a lot of content.

I do agree with Davey to a degree, a player corp can make your game a lot more fun.

And it isn't that hard to find a corp that does the same thing as you like if you know where and how to search for them.

*Hint: Go to the stickies, there should be one named "How to find the corporation that suits you version 3.0"...read and use that.

But you are right, you don't have to be in a corp to interact with others. Hell, I think the majority of the people I interact with in EVE are not even in my corp at all.
