As the title states; MOVE THE PLANET INSPECTION BUTTON

It is in the worst possible location, and it does result in players clicking it inadvertently when they are trying to warp out of tense combat. To make matters worse, you get stuck waiting for the game to load the useless planet, and then you have to wait to get out of the useless fcking mode. All while being entirely vulnerable and unable to control your ship.

For those who don't know, the button is directly beside the "warp-to" button when you select a planet.
Clicking it dumps you out of the "game" and into planet inspection mode.

This is such bloody awful design.
Why is an optional feature so easily clicked when in combat?
Why can't I move or disable it somehow?

I strictly pvp. I don't have any interest whatsoever in PI.
Yet, I have entered this mode MANY TIMES without any intention to do so.

Move the button, or give an option to disable PI access if you are currently engaged in combat with players.

This isn't brain surgery people.

If I wanted to inspect planets, it wouldn't be when I'm in the middle of combat.

Rant aside, I feel you have a valid point - I know corp-mates who've lost ships (in this case falcons/other force recons) when they went to warp to a planet at a distance and instead opened up the planet for inspection.

they don't like fixing the game, they like tweaking ships for "balance" that wont balance because they leave out the pilot, then there is Beer to drink and parties to be had all over the world.

I've lost a ship because of the button location.
Give us ability to map buttons.

No, you lost your ship because you panicked. Don't panic and you won't click the wrong button.

Pretty much this. As a reformed carebear, I'm pretty new to any PvP outside being a F1 monkey. As such, you'd expect someone like me to have issues with that button. Yet, I don't.

+1 some parts of the UI indeed need bit of improvement.

I wouldn't mind also the buttons "Reconnect Active Probes" and "Analyze" be moved just a little further from eachother.

Cheers

And I guess you'd also say that one of the best PvPers in the game panicked and he should improve himself by not panicking and don't post in the forum, right? Big smile Go back under your bridge.

If a solo PvP noob, aka myself, has no problems keeping himself from pressing the wrong button when warping out, I fully expect "one of the best PvPers in the game" to have a similar lack of difficulty. Makes sense, right? Lol

It's almost like CCP does this on purpose to generate content.

You know, like Bridge To and Jump.

Also, you know you can set a keyboard shortcut for warp to, right?

Well, if you really want to know, anyone considered to be "one of the best PVPers" would realize that it is more efficient to use the hot key instead of trying to click the screen. Not only is it more efficient, it will eliminate this "issue" that has been presented.

I panic, **** up, and misclick all the time in solo and small gang pvp, and I've never hit the PI button by mistake.

But I still support the ability to disable "Planet Mode" from your client entirely.

Yes, it's unbound.
All ship movement commands are unbound.

The last thing I need is to accidentally warp somewhere instead of approach or orbit.

I do PI and I do PVP, and I don't want to accidentally bring up PI when I'm trying to do PVP, nor do I want to accidentally bring up PVP when I'm trying to do PI.

Fix it, CCP.

I respect your clicking prowess Roll

Still wouldn't hurt to improve a bit the UI, right? Like adjusting the positions of "reprocess" and "repackage" buttons on the right click menu, or the "bridge to" and "jump to".. those have become legendary over time. I'm not sure whether there's other game out there that part of the things it's famous for is its confusing UI.

CCP karkur and team, you did a great job and I'm grateful for your work (especially for the create bookmark in space shortcut) but imo there are still little bits that need improvement.

I lost POD 4 times during this stuck. Then I stopped using "Warp to" Button. Spamming on OV with "S" key is much safer because to press "A" or "D" never freeze my client.
Planetary Interaction Button is killing "Warp to" Button.

That's not a valid response: this is an ongoing issue and is a UI fault
