Will Dust support keyboard+mouse on PS3?

I saw this posted a couple times this week but I don't remember if a definitive answer was ever given. I don't do forum searches but I can say with confidence that without a mouse I don't play shooters, period. I'd like a link to the answer if it exists so I can either be excited or stop thinking about Dust altogether.

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

I hope they do add KB and M support. Console players can just adapt or die. Its not that hard!!!

See, that gives a vague "maybe" answer.

The blog on the actual website gives a firm "no", though.

They're a bit expensive, but these things are supposed to be pretty good.

Indeed they can because, indeed, it isn't that hard to learn how to use a controller (and they are part of the gaming master race, after all, so it should be ridiculously easy for them). And yes, if thet can't adapt, they will probably die.

Unfourtunately for you Dust 514 is simple enough you can put its entire control scheme onto a controller easily.

There are extremly very few shotoers these days you cannot do that to anymore.
Most start with Realistic and end with Simulator instead of starting with First and ending in Shooter.

As someone who only plays shooters with a mouse and keyboard, but also does not plan on purchasing a PS3, I can see where CCP is coming from. M+K players would have a huge advantage over controller players. You would essentially be saying 'you MUST have a mouse and keyboard in order to compete in this game.'

No it's not comparable to fighter joysticks or light guns, because you don't get nearly the same advantage as you do with a mouse and keyboard.

And no, you can't just go pick up a $10 M+K combo because you need something wireless in 90% of scenarios. So your essentially making your customers go spend another $50 just for the equipment.

Keep in mind this is a free-to-play sub-based game. The name of the game is player retention. CCP may lose 10% of initial customers with this move, but it is FAR better than losing 75% of controller users after one month because they cannot compete. Half of them won't even realize why other people have an advantage. the rest either won't care enough to go get the equipment or will be outraged that they have to pay to win. I'm sure we're all familiar with that kind of anger right?

In the end it's a smarter move to keep everyone on the same level, even if a small percentage of customers are a little uncomfortable with a controller.

As I said, Sony is fine with it. Hence USB ports.

Game developers on the other hand have to listen to all the whining about other people's advantages and are put into a position where they have to tell their customers to go buy this hardware if you want to compete. Which is one of the quicker ways to tell them to go blow themselves.

though the ps3 controller sucks, the batman controller that came out is close to the 360 controller so its worth getting

If Dust does support mouse control Ill probably go out and buy a PS3 just for Dust.

But Its hard to imagine it will because the mouse users would comepletly destroy the normal control users.


So Ill probably be playing PlanetSide 2 with my PC instead.

If they did add mouse and keyboard support it would create a wealth of issues related to the fact that mouse is a superior way of aiming compared to controllers. Not surprising and did was people really expecting such a thing on a console-MMOFPS? Seriously?

I think the real lesson to be learned here is that EVE rules as you can use Controler+mouse+KB.

Isnt having M+K much easier to make press and hold aim bots for though?
