hey all,

so i just come back after a break and i see lots of changes, looks nice too... gonna take me ages to suss everything though..

i was just about to reprocess a load of stuff and i noticed they revamped the reprocessing, its way better to use now...nice job!

im only getting 50% now though even though i had pretty good skills, are there any new skills i need to learn or any other ways of boosting my efficiency?

thanks..

implants and faction standings in NPC stations ... will get you up to a max of around 70% in empire.

0.0 tho, not sure ... heard it's different.

(NB assumed max skills)

Are you reprocessing ore or loot?

A lot of changes were implemented in Crius last summer.

CCP: " we are going to reduce reprocessing efficiency down by quite a bit, but we are going to keep mining efficiency the same as it is right now by increasing minerals gained from reprocessing ices and ores."

Thanks, one of my chars has the skills and the other has the standings...pffft lol...

so would the standings on the type of space (min, caldari etc) be factored in or just the station standings?

..

CCP changed loot reprocessing to avoid the unbalanced compression people were getting, like when they would manufacture a load of 425 Railgun Is and cart a freighter full of them to wherever, then reprocess for damn near 100% of the minerals. Something like that. But in return, we got that super cool new compression array that made the Rorqual obsolete.. so.. yay?

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

That reprocessing array is still the same old as it used be AFAIK they just tweaked it's stats to make it useful. Blink

Anyway old reprocessing max was about 107% or so, hence 'compressing' minerals to T1 items made a lot of sense since they took a hugely less space then "Rorqual cubes" to transport.

CCp took it upon themselves to futher kill loot and reprocessing ore so that it is no longer able to do 100% reprocessing/refining even with expensive implants.

Aswell as refining increases depending on where you are. the lost being npc stations, follow by pos, then outpost spec'd for reprocessing

It's all nerfed. You can probably find the dev blog where they explain the changes, last year.

well i been looking at this a bit more on the skill part..

scrap metal processing seems to be a new skill? i never had it anyway,...and its a rank 5.

but before i can even start scrap metal processing i gotta get metallurgy to 5 (13 days)

there are also the two skills reprocessing & reprocessing efficiency, i am not sure if these two skills are a factor as they are not mentioned in the reprocess window like scrap metal processing is?

does anyone know if those 2 skills make a difference?

Thanks.

thx Tau. I have had a read of that, it only really explains ore processing though and i want to get the highest possible efficiency for loot and modules.

my standings at the station im using are 8.35 so pretty good for it id assume?

i have reprocessing and reprocessing efficiency skills to level 5.

yet im still only getting 50% when i reprocess modules?

in the reprocessing screen it says that it factors in skill level for scrap metal reprocessing, but there is no mention of that skill on the links you sent me so im not sure if its needed or not..

From the dev blog:
Quote:
A character having perfect skills and standings, reprocessing anything that’s not ores and ices at a 50% station will get 55% reprocessing outcome (The Scrapmetal Processing skill is applied on the same fashion than ore specialization skills on the formula above).

and scrap metal processing is pretty old, my industrial alt has it to lv 1 as that is what it used to require for a perfect refine, tbh I don't think I've reprocessed anything since the changes.

Scrap metal Reprocessing is an old skill but you never used to need it to get perfect refine as I remember.
Now it is the only skill that affects it, so 55% is the max you can get on items.

Ah much appreciated chainsaw mate, how did i miss that? doh..

lot of training for 5% that, metallurgy (x3) is a level 5 pre-req before you can even start scrap metal (x5).

i think i heard implants are available too, ill take a look at those..

I have 8.5 faction standing and the corp station I'm docked at is 9.16 and I reprocess at 50% lulz.

Losing a ton of isk if you're mining.

Implants only apply to ore/ice. Not items.
And Aston, either it's a 30% station and you don't have max skills or you are looking at items, which is utterly different to mining and refining ore. Learn to play.

I'm sure it's mentioned in the replies. Ore amounts were modified so the now 55% is the same minerals you had before at 100%. Module and loot reproc took a big punch in the face. Justified in the campaign to end gun mining. I understand and support it but I also prefer stuff have use and in most cases, they don't. Reproc was the alternative to simply deleting your trash and it was the only alternative. It still is so now we are seeing huge hordes of things that nobody really use but don't throw away because that has never been a practice in EVE.
