T2 logi for PVP only once a week

I don't have the playtime to do constant PVP as a logi, I only have a time slot once a week.

Do corps accept someone who is only able to do fleet logi once a week or do they only take players who can answer CTA?

I have trained all the recommended logi skills and cruisers for T2.

Some would, some wouldn't.

Casual logi is better than none I suppose.

Just be clear with whoever about your availability and you should be fine.

Sure there are plenty around. Some advertise there weekly roam, typically friday/sat in the corps TZ. Bigger cops have different attendance requirements where once a week would be fine for some of them. WH corps, the bigger ones at least, tend to be far more "must be active" since POSes don't fuel themselves.

Also just lots of skills a good logi pilot does not make. Logi requires you to be a fairly competent pilot is the real life side of things. You need to be able to manage quite a few things at once, like cap, heat , position, ewar on grid etc. As well as often you need to prioritize who you should save. Good logi pilots are worth their weight in gold. But are far less common than just t2 logi sitters.

This also makes logi a lot of fun to fly.

So you would suggest joining something like Brave Newbies or Eve Uni to get more Logi experience? To be honest, I have only done 5 fleet runs as a logi but I love it and want to do a lot more. My current corp does a logi supported fleet run very very infrequently.

Does anyone know how much logi those 2 very respectable training institutions actually use in fleet runs?

Both brave and Uni use logi a lot. I would also check out the NPSI fleets like spectre and RvB ganked, so you don't have to change corp. Unfortunately spectre is more blops nowdays.

In many cases they will tend to use t1 logi, but RvB ganked do often fly t2. T2 is significantly better than t1, but also quite expensive, esp with the trend to use deadspace remote reps in standard fits. Cap chaining logi is the harder ones to fly, but give enough of an advantage that you want to learn to get good at that, like noticing when the chain breaks, and fixing it. Guardians are freaking awesome.

Yea just getting out there and flying is the way to learn. Also fraps your fleets and watch afterwards. You will see a lot of "WTF was i doing" moments and so can sort of self coach. There really is no other way to learn than getting balls deep and probably losing ships and some of the fleet to mistakes. It happens.

Since a lot of people want shinny killboards, you will probably have no problem getting into fleets as logi. Our NPSI fleets often give the ships for logi pilots away for free. When we are not BLOPsing that is.

Depends where you are, and who you flying with. In null, those type of folk tend to be more cta concerned, in low there is more a causal life style. I know that my grp of happy pirates wouldnt really care if you logged on once a week, but we are also self sufficient, meaning that none of us ask the corp/alliance for isk or ships, and it might be hard to pay for your replacement ships if you are on very infrequently.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

Thank you all for the extremely helpful advice here. NPSI sounds like a great way to get more logi done since I don't have to leave my corp.

I make enough ISK in a renter corp to not worry about how I pay for a logi ship to fly in roams.

Thanks again everyone!

I would strongly suggest fielding T1 logi ships in a few NPSI roams, as already suggested.

You'll learn if you actively enjoy logi or not, in one of the most stressful logi environments possible.

A. Logibro is always accepted in fleets. Everybody loves Logibro (that includes you, CCP Logibro)

B. You might also want to consider joining public fleets, they too will love you if you bring logi, however it is more likely they suggest/request T1 logi (as they are most likely die very quick and it's easier on the wallet to lose a couple of T1 logi ships over T2 versions).

Uni uses logi? Last time BRAVE and uni fought we wrecked them as they had no logi

Have been against plenty of uni fleets with logi. A one time thing does not make it a thing.

Check out SpecterFleet. They have a website and an in-game chat channel. And they are always running PvP roams open to a lot of pilots - daily basis. Sometimes multiple times a day. They've been around for a long time and have an established organization. Join their chat channel and start asking questions. You might find some of the opportunities you're looking for.

It was an experimental T1 frigate doctrine for a fun fight and their FC was told repeatedly he needed logi.
