Pirate Factions & "Hardcore Mode"

I have no clue if anyone thought this up before or not, I didn't see anything when I searched so I might as well suggest it. Since some people wish to make pirate faction characters and there was some rumor of a hardcore mode (podded = new character,) why not combine the two? If you look into the lore of this game Fatal from the Guristas was pod killed and due to an inferior clone lost memory and such. Why not add pirate factions who inherently have inferior clones to basically explain why your character is useless after you are pod killed? Even if it isn't the end of the character, it could be a reason for why you start off from scratch or whatever. Obviously it would be hard to explain for the Sisters of Eve or any of the Major races in this way, but not as hard for Guristas, Blood Raiders, Serpantis, and The Angel Cartel.

Any thoughts?

They only just removed SP loss on pod death, why would you want it back?

this is referring to the hard core mode brought up because the were removing sp lose on pod death

for those of us who no longer get that adrenalin rush in a fight since we no longer risk losing anything we don't have the isk to cover like back when we started

I enjoy this idea however i would still rather the character be totally lost rather than just its sp meaning any assets or isk it had are lost to the void as well

You basically can't lock assets, unless you prohibit any sort of item transfer. But resetting SP on pod death? I'd probably have a character doing it, as long as you can preset a skill queue.

The character that will have no assets other than the ship they're flying you mean?

As far as items and skills are concerned they could have some form of rehabilitation system(faster training for skills you already had for some fee, lp or via standings) or a "next of kin" system passing items on to your next basically throwaway character.

How about no?

by an optimal pilot but there are people who load a freighter full of 8bill and auto pilot through niarja i'm sure people will transfer several bill to one of these chars so it can buy crap then get podded

so have them limited to combat ships, they are in pirate factions after all, never seen a gurista jump freighter.

Huh i want them to lose a bunch of assets otherwise where is the real risk?

the post i was responding to was pointing out that if there was a risk of the charactor being bio massed no one would put any assets on that character other than the current ship they are flying
