I have two ideas I didn't see any ware on the forums;
1) Enable "Snap to Grid" in planet view
Should be able to build a structure WAY closer to HQ than 100k.

2) Enable re-sizing of all the Planet management windows.
Would make all tasks easier, especially "Expedited Moves" when not in the same system.

however you no doubt saw plenty of threads about improving PI this should be placed into on of those
