Well I am back now I got a real job now and RL has settled down.

My question is what to do now I am back Before I left I sold most my stuff so got few bill in pocket change atm. I kind of want to get into eve's industry side of things now. I was mostly missioning before this and wanting to try new things.

My question is if I fire up my alt who is mining indy toon ,my third toon can mine and cyber can Orca pretty well if needed should I just mine or is it worth my effort to make things like ships ect?

Any advice would be most welcome as I been out of the loop for awhile.

It is unlikely to be worth your time or effort to manufacture anything unless you have the entire production line established with fully researched bpos and good moons for t2 production etc. And even then...your competition are the higher ups of the biggest corps in the game running out of null sec.

Mining will always get you iskies though. If ratting isn't your thing. You could also try planetary interaction, I guess. Exploration isn't as good as it used to be but you could do that too.

Although you hate rating, I do hear that incursions are one of the best ways to make a lot of isk.

Ahem

Welcome back.

A few bill is a good nest egg. I'd get your main logged back in and give each thing you are interested in a try. We can't tell you what you'll enjoy. The new player corps/alliances will take returning players, so I'd consider E-Uni, BNI etc even if you aren't all that interested in PvP for the moment.

I started manufacturing with a couple of slots and without max skills (ie, had waste on some jobs) but still managed to make a profit. Start small. I did things like cynos, tractor beams and salvagers to begin with and scattered the sales about. Ships are not an ideal entry point imo - you need an army of alts and a lot of knowledge to make it work. I made profits where I managed to find good hubs to sell in (with either fast turnover or high margins) and worked out how to acquire cheaper raw materials, then scaled up. You could skip all of that and just try buying stuff in hubs then move it and sell, just don't stuff billions into a squishy ship then afk about in highsec.

Start looking in the S&I/MD/New Citizen forums and keep an eye on the ingame channels for blueprints/mining/indy. It's a lot easier to chat to people ingame and get tips as you are going along. Long term even if you keep indy alts in a private corp it's worth having your main in a larger group - sometimes it opens up more opportunities.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.
