How Russian of you.

Edit: Will my capsuleer be shot in the back on the bridge between the hangar and the captains closet for this?

Recruitment Officer: What type of a pilot are you? Me: I've been described as a Ray Charles with Parkinsons and a drinking problem.

There are numerous forums on the intertubes where the discussion of real life politics can take place.

This is not one of them. Get over it.

Is this a real threat? Eve losing its Russian contingent of players? I'm sure they can work around this yes?

My suggestion would be to not store credit card information for accounts that are incompatible with this kind of law. You can still allow payment to be made from a credit card, but discard the personal information as soon as the transaction goes through. This would allow credit cards to still be used, and just disable the recurring subscription features. I think this would be less of a hassle than having to use alternative payment methods.

There's not a huge amount that we can say regarding what's going on internally surrounding discussion of this change in the law for citizens of the Russian Federation.

What we can say, is we've been aware of this legislation since it was announced publicly, and our legal team are in contact with legal representatives in Russia, who are working with us to ensure that the transition is smooth, and that we're compliant with all the new legislation that's going to be put in place.

Right now, there's not really a great deal more detail that I can go into, but once we have more information, you guys will be the first to know.

Regardless, our community comes first and we'll make sure that we're compliant so that players living in the Russian Federation can continue to enjoy EVE Online in the years to come.

Thank you for your concern about us :3

Doubt it because they would need to setup new servers, host a new universe, maintain everything and would still loose a lot of players.

Maybe they'll just setup a DB server to host all russian customer data in russia and forward all request of those players to this system internally.

You're dealing with eveplayers here falcon , just put a lock on it and sticky it in the russian forums once the ''details'' are ironed out.

Or not and the inevitable lock will be a few posts away Roll.

There are already Russian third parties authorized to sell PLEX by CCP. Perhaps this party could hold the personal data?

So all the nations doing this are going to force another level of (in)secure servers in order for people to do business over the internet. Yeah, that's going to work out just fine.

If I was a neighbor of Russian alliances I'd prepare plan for situation when their place will be abandoned. It may happen in 6 months.

And now that we're talking about Russian, how about a option to block automatically anyone who posts in local with cirillic characters? It's a bloody chore to keep the channel clean...
