Hi you must be new here. This is the EvE online forums, where we react now and rage as hard as possible even before the plans are fully layed out. Now stop making sense and rage.

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

I thought the AFK cloaking comments would have got more attention...

If local is removed in null, AFK cloakers are going to have to alt-tab into client more often to chatter in local, and I look forward to all of the comments that get posted in local in ratting systems.

Imagine a N3 member sitting in a Goon ratting system, cloaked, and typing the lyrics of Call Me Maybe into chat over and over....

Oh you mean like when they nerfed supers inmunity in 2010? Or when they nerfed the drake? Or maybe when they nerfed supercarrier drones? Don't forget about the jump range nerf... or the fighter assign nerf... and now this SOV 2.0/booster supers...

Yeah it's fine... CCP isn't going nerf anything else, or drastically change playstyle of a ship...

changes doesn't automatically mean nerf dude and most of those changes you listed i consider boosts.

let's be honest none of these people (especially you) are gonna quit EvE because of this, what else would you do/play? Cool

If I had a super I would gladly volunteer to be the first one involved in a sov conflict. I'm really interested in seeing how they're going to be utilised post summer.

Well he wouldn't really be AFK at that point would he.

If anything he would just be unable to confirm precisely how many people are actually doing stuff and what kind of stuff they are doing.

More to the point if local gets delayed would that justify removing pilots-in-space/pilots-currently-docked from map statistics? Because if we're going to go one step towards removing free intel we might as well remove the other.

I think the main problem is really that devs are not allowed to own supers as far as i am aware on their player accounts. So you have a bunch of people who dont fly, or own the ships in a real setting balancing them. Its like having my local hairdresser repairing my car.

It leads to uneducated decisions and biased opinions from the balancers, which is not what you want from a balancing team...Supers are a completely different aspect of the game, and i feel there is no one in a position that should be allowed to balance them from the dev team until they are allowed to own and fly them on their player accounts, There is only so much one can gain from looking at graphs.

So what do we have so far in this new game they call EVE-ONGRIND.

No winter megawar, gj onthe jump fatique. My first winter in years that I am actually bored to death.
Supers.......well lets not mention those. GL pilots who have trained there ballz off and grinded like a mtf, gl taking it up the ass....dry
Sov, going to be more a a pain.
Titan's where killed a long time ago so aint gonna mention them.
Oh yeah......I forgot the fights that do occur.....40 jumps to the fight and 40 back.......really really awesome and not a complete wast off time and fun at all.

Wonder how long it's going to take CCP before they actually start doing things to the game that will "improve" the game instead off twisting it's neck off even further.
I feel bad for all the oldtimers in this game, after years and years off sticking to the program.
We are all getting a major **** in our asses.

But maybe thats just me and i am beeing really negative.

It was explictly stated that the dmg role will be removed and noone, as mentioned before, flies a SC because it can give boosts. SC/capital warefare is like a compleatly different game compared to small gang and F1 monkey cruiser fleets. To commit such a huge amount of ISK against the odds requires skill and strategies for every eventuality.

Dear CCP:

Thanks for making the "end game" in this game worthless. Something that takes years and years to train for and tens of billions of isk to obtain and fit is going to be made into a "niche" ship that is rarely taken out and has no offensive means to defend itself.

And don't tell me a 14x skill and tens of billions of isk is not end game, because it is. Stop seeing these ships as the problem, when it is YOUR LACK OF IMAGINATION THAT IS THE PROBLEM. I don't play the game to have an Ishtar as my ultimate goal; I play the game to have the sickest and most powerful ship to be in with the most to lose if I die. And if I die, I'll will lose tens of billions of isk in the hull alone and billions in implants.

SAVE THE SUPER AND BUFF THE TITAN. KEEP EVE EPIC. DON'T HAVE CRUISER HULLS BE THE END GAME. DOWN WITH MAKING EVE CAPTURE THE FLAG. SIC SEMPER TYRANIS = CCP FOZZIE.

Those were nerf, not boosts... I can't even begin to imagine how it would boost them... I'v been around since 2004, and i'v seen how CCP rolls. I also don't remember saying i would quit... actually i have never said that, ever, on any of my toons. Sometimes i take a break, but i don't 'quit'.

Now, tell me something: If you spent +1 year on a few toons to train for supers, you worked hard in-game to get the isk to have them build and properly fitted... and then... they have a huge nerf/role change/etc (and this keeps happening over the course of years), and suddenly what you like to do in the game, isn't a possibility anymore (so you once again adapt). I would think you wouldn't like it, especially when it's getting worst and worst.

I still see clueless noobs saying how super's are so super and OP... Yeah ok... Clearly they haven't played this game long and never flown one. Also, when ever CCP say's "lots of those supers are too powerful" it makes me cringe because they treat us like idiots. Lots of ANYTHING is too powerfull... 100 BS... 100 interceptor... 100 ishtar... all of those are MUCH more powerful than a few of them... Strength in number... DDDDDDDDDDDDDDUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Been around since the beginning.

Hey, this is not a bad thing. I'm piling all me values and assets into a few supers, logging them off and unsubbing them in some backwater system, keeping only one of my seven accounts active in an Ishtar and spending the savings on hookers and blow.

If you ask me, that is a win win situation. Less time spent in a game, less TiDi and lot more fun out of game ;)

What ccp is doing is wrong headed (proving they don't know much about their players, especially in null), but it's not the end of the world. They've done these kinds of 'tone deaf' things before (not talking about super caps, we don't know what they will do yet, I mean the general direciton of the game) and CCP is the kind of company that needs to hit near-rock bottom before they level out and start doing things right again.

It took monocle gate/Incarna to get ccp on the right track with the game the last time, but that was years ago and anyone who is an adult with a job knows that 'institutional memory' doesn't actually exist lol. Eventually, the folly of CCPs choices will catch up with them, their will again be a period of much soul searching (ie layoffs while the big wigs cover ass) and EVE Online will temporarily be set on a good track again... until the next time.

TL;DR, CCP are really cylons (the hot babe kind, not the toaster kind), this has happened before, and it WILL happen again.

Sounds like a Mickey Mouse role to me. I think CCP need to consider future roles of supers more carefully.

Delayed local in null sec, now there's a topic. While I'm not entirely against it, I can see a glaring issue - null sec allows force projection (hot dropping), while wormholes do not. This, coupled with the issue that wormholes are more profitable and don't require sov defence will make null sec a far less attractive proposition for living. The issue of force projection (including black ops - really, why would you do this - will another gameplay option be destroyed??) will need to be dealt with before a mechanic like delayed local in null sec will be successful.

People will say "have PvP'ers on hand" but we all know that doesn't work against blops strikes which usually annihilate the target before anyone can respond.

Wormholes require Sov defence... It's just not called sov.

Defacto not only the super accounts, but their support accounts as well. Imagine a supercarrier or titan like an Abrams tank. To keep a single Abrams operational and ready for battle it requires some ~50 people supporting. Obviously not as extreme for a lousy digital supercapital, but the concept is the same. You won't have a need for logistics toons to provide fuel/stront/etc, no more cyno alts, no more scouts, no more wormhole/ratting/incursion/mission -alts to make isk for those big babies and their blingy modules (eh, how much would you want to bling up your Ishtar anyway)

You may see a chain reaction... if it was up to me, I'd rather give supers a new and strategically important purpose, much like every other ship has one. Let them excel in their field just as other category ships do.

Anyway, I'm not too worried about it, nerf or buff either way - it may be a sign from Bob that it's time to spend the next decade doing something else :D

yeah, actual goons and actual N3 pilots dont dock up, its N3 renters that dock up and hide under threat of being kicked out if they get ganked, and its ISKmules/mooks who dock up in goon space for fear of ebing amde fun of for ratting in a 3billion isk battleship/carrier that could easily be done in a 200mil isk ship

I have to admit I've conspicuously never seen calls for the death of supers coming from NCdot players.

Although on the other hand I do still think they're a detriment to the game in their current incarnation: speaking of which what happens to fighter bombers now?
