Well, to a certain degree, you're talking to the right person, as I do some of the banners and messaging for the election.

So, when you're done voting, come back to this thread and let me know what we could do better about the reach, cadence, message, or whatever it is you feel we could improve upon.

More banners, larger banners, Larger flashier static banner on launcher, larger static banner on character screen. More links to sites that can help guide people towards the right candidate or to information about candidates. Drill home the importance of the CSM on the community site with a large highly visible banner link to the voting site. CSM links on ALL Eve related sites. Its not that hard to freakin carpet bomb and idiot proof.

On the other hand, no matter how much more you do, there will still be those who claim they didn't vote because they weren't informed.

Sounds like a plan. Will keep that in mind for minutes and summits, as well. We ran ads in most of our banner space over the course of the election. Maybe we need to run them more often. Thanks!

I guess that free BPC for ten copies of a brand new type of shuttle to promote the elections wasn't enough for some people.

There is no real reason why we should, because bloc votes are allowed, because buying votes is allowed, because there is no "vote against all candidates" option.

If you only do banner and similar stuff, you will get poor return because most people have learned by now that banners are usually only useless ads. The banners on launcher are just as bad. I never read anything on it and I am pretty sure a lot of people do like me. There is also a shitload of people just bypassing said launcher because they hate it with a passion. The place to advertise to the whole community for it to be seen is IN GAME. That is the only place active player are sure to be at some point. Not the launcher, not the website, not blogs, not reddit, not any fan sites. The player base is inside the game. Find a way to reach out to them there.

For the next CSM voting, please consider adding a "none of the above" option for those who don't mind voting, but don't find any of the candidates represents their own views properly.

We also do news, devblogs and posts in several of the social media channels. In-game gets tricky, as CSM is more of a player thing not a pilot thing, and that goes into a grey area. I do get your point, though. If I could skywrite with my Polaris, I'd be scribbling the skies from Empire to nullsec with it.

There's also... a new video!

Take away our free agency by giving us suspect flags until we vote. The mayhem will be glorious.

Vote to make a difference.

I voted for all of these reasons, but mainly for the entertainment. One of those trinkets better be a spoon or I'll be very disappointed.

The best way to get the zombies ingame to vote is to go to Jita or all of the hubs and offer ISK doubling services or start dueling noobs.

If he-who-shall-not be-mentioned is elected blame the flairbears on reddit and start praying for the rest of the CSM. I can't decide if it'll be bad or diablocially funny. Maybe both?

Seriously though.. those who don't vote have no right to complain.

Subscribers who don't vote in the CSM have no right to complain? Pffft.

CCP Loktofeit.

This is honestly the first time iv heard of the elections this year.

And i wont be voting again this year because it makes no difference on who i vote for and what i care for, because none of the changes to wormhole space came through our wormhole CSM representative. Frigate holes..... Mass based spawn... Those were the most pathetic thing to come from CCP, we tried to put our opinion forward for them, and Fozzie took **** all notice.

Looks like his ignoring our suggestions for the Sov to null. Game is going to **** with him in charge.

Change the reward (this year the shuttle BPC's) so that it is only redeemable by accounts that voted. Include in the shuttle description that it was due to voting.

The redeem queue could by default contain a 'replica' shuttle describing that the real thing is available to those that vote.

Turns out he was right. Mass based spawn made WH PvP more interesting and although frigate holes were not very exciting, shattered holes at least made them worth checking out. They are definitely not detrimental in either case.

Honestly, 75 candidates are just too many. The community-driven matching tool sat there and acted like it had locked up the JScript a couple of times when I told it to show me all the results/comments, and even then, tbh, it's not really that helpful. The trouble is that vote-match matches you on how much you "agree" with a candidate, where agreement is measured by how closely you answered the same question. But what if you share the opinion "mining sucks" only you answered "Mining needs massive fixing" and they answered "Mining needs worked on, but not at the expense of SOV fixes"? Well, now you've just knocked a candidate you'd love to vote for towards the bottom of the pile. This is mitigated somewhat when candidates offer explanations for their positions, but do I really have time to read through 75 candidates' answers, times the number of questions asked? What about folks like Sort Dragon who don't offer any elaboration at all, yet have (for me, at least) a 98% match rate? I'm pretty sure his priorities are NOT aligned with mine, but without something more to go on... what can I do but either vote for him anyways and hope for the best, or not vote at all and then kvetch when CSM sucks?
