No, not for me for the CSM, but ... For me, will you vote?

I want you to.
I need you to.
Why?

Because there's no reason NOT to
and it's just crazy that so many people don't, both in New Eden and RL.

Vote for the trinkets.
Vote for the hell of it.
Vote to make a difference.

There's plenty of reasons to vote, and all of them are pretty cool. It doesn't cost you extra, and it helps out a fellow pilot make it that much closer to the CSM position they are probably really excited about getting.

And you get trinkets. I haven't read what a trinket is, but I know you get 10 of them, so even if it's something you didn't want (how could you not want cool free EVE stuff?!?!?!), there's someone out there willing to buy them from you. Then you can spend that money on ammo to shoot them and take it back.

So basically, voting is part of the circle of life in EVE, which is really amazing because you're all immortal, so that circle is probably just a really long line or a group of stacked lines inching forward in time, like a staircase.

So, get out there and vote. There's dozens of people to choose from. Maybe you know some. There ya go! Vote for them. Hate the guy/gal/llama/cyborg/dude/thing/person? Vote for other candidates to keep that guy/gal/llama/cyborg/dude/thing/person down.

It's fast.
It's free.

I can probably dig up a bunch of buzzwords about voting, but the reality is that I want as many people voting as possible, because the more people that vote, the greater the chance there will be people on top of the CSM to get their issues/feedback/agenda/etc pushed through, which means more things done by and with the community which is pretty damn cool. It's also pretty damn unique... dammit. I mean, seriously, you know EVE. You play EVE. You're in the damn trenches and there are times that your experience, combined with dev experience, has made some really wonderful stuff happen.

You know that's true. Even the people that post about how the CSM doesn't make a difference, know deep down inside... in those cold dark cockles of their heart.... they know that the CSM has brought some great stuff to the table.

So, all you have to do is click the link in this post and click a few names. You're done in less than a minute. What do you have to lose?

Why should we care - CCP does not care what the players want - why should we care?

Mine might be too simple for that:
  • More equal representation on CSM. *
  • Balancing the game **
  • Abstain option to see who is aware but doesn't believe in CSM

*Just look how I am campaigning in High Sec to get people to vote for anyone and directing to candidates that are in smaller corps and alliances.
** So, it comes down to wits rather than role advantage. I want a more involving and challenging game. Like Go (That is my selfish reasoning)

Oh, I will also, straight up say that a large reason for standing for CSM is that I looked at the other candidates and thought, "Better me than them giving CCP feedback."

OP thank you.

Can you get this sent out as a server message or put in the launcher?

Well, to a certain degree, you're talking to the right person, as I do some of the banners and messaging for the election.

So, when you're done voting, come back to this thread and let me know what we could do better about the reach, cadence, message, or whatever it is you feel we could improve upon.

Cant you use in-game means to spread the word about voting? having it on site or forums dont really work tbh

I mind years ago on one of my attempts to get into eve i used to sit and read the in game like billboards found at gates, but well they no work now, but couldnt you like use the screens in the capn quaters to display information or something?

More banners, larger banners, Larger flashier static banner on launcher, larger static banner on character screen. More links to sites that can help guide people towards the right candidate or to information about candidates. Drill home the importance of the CSM on the community site with a large highly visible banner link to the voting site. CSM links on ALL Eve related sites. Its not that hard to freakin carpet bomb and idiot proof.

On the other hand, no matter how much more you do, there will still be those who claim they didn't vote because they weren't informed.

Oh? I beg to differ. I don't vote in RL and I don't vote in New Eden. Why? Because I don't believe in elected representation. Its no one else's job but my own to stay informed about issues and to decide if I want to devote time to changing them. No one in RL or New Eden is going to do a better job of representing me than myself.

Example A:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=340393&p=40 post 787

Example B:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=342096&p=7 Post 126

In both examples I found these by watching the dev posts part of the forums, found something I was interested in, and responded to it with reasoned arguments about how I would do things differently. In both cases change happened.

Trinkets, that hold very little value and are not worth the time or consideration they are being given.

Another reason not to vote. There is more truth to this than you realize. the CSM are there for "their" issues. Not mine, not yours, but theirs. I want no part of issues getting special treatment.

Oh I think the CSM makes a big difference. The question then becomes, for who and why? These are not to be scoffed at.

We here in the forum already know about the election.

What you might want to try is reaching out to the other 400,000 players that don't bother with this cesspit of tears and entitlement.
